WIW: Wide Leg Jeans for Casual Friday

TGIF!!! And my sympathies for anyone who suffers from Spring allergies 'cause mine hit me last night like a ton of bricks - even my eyelids hurt!

Anyhoo….on to today's outfit. It started out with these recently thrifted wide leg dark wash jeans (no label so don't know the brand). The leg shape on these is wider than a traditional bootcut but not a full blown wide leg. Normally I would not wear a leg quite this wide on my short stature but with the dark wash and a bit of a heel, I quite like them. And it makes the jeans a bit more like trousers for work.

I added a white lace cami and my white drapey wrap tee and then topped that with my red blazer, with cuffed and scrunched sleeves to show the black/white houndstooth lining.

My red booties, navy leather handbag, and red specs finish off the outfit.

What do you think? does this shape of leg work for short me? Or do they make me look wider and stumpier than I am? Give it to me straight - the jeans cost all of $6.99 so I'm not attached to them in anyway :) As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer: Cleo Petite
Tee: BCBG
Jeans: ?
Boots: Sam Edelman
Handbag: Coach - vintage

I think they absolutely work as styled, Shannon! You look terrific! I love the red with the white -- it feels so fresh.

So sorry about your allergies. It must be so much warmer in Winnipeg than Ontario -- we are still very far away from spring allergy weather. Brrrrr!!

Friday Spring PERFECTION on you. I love everything about this look--chic, balanced, fun, and great details. I love the sleeve edging/turn backs and the drapey blouse is a perfect touch to soften the look for Friday. Yay! Sorry to hear about your allergies. I sympathise--but you look great. I haven't been forum-ing long, but this is my fave look on you to date. I'm inspired.

I love them on you! I think the length is perfect and the dark wash really makes the bright red and crisp white pop

They work. My favorite part of your outfits remains your smile.

They are not skinnies of course, but a  great cut and I  bet even more fab in motion. Love the color scheme and particular items of the outfit+ the turned up jacket's cufs are bookending your hair so fab! Happy Spring, Shannon, to you, and all who had a sever winter this year!:-)

Love the silhouette.  You are a well proportioned petite, Shannon, so their is no stumpifying here!  Love the modern drape in the white top, too!

I hear you on allergies -- the fact that I've been painting the entire interior of my house doesn't help!

Classic, comfy, pulled together and sparkly.

I don't think the jeans look leg shortening on you - they look polished and the red really sets them off nicely so I think the outfit is a win. I've been suffering from sinus trouble too - but the weather is beautiful.

The length of the jean-trousers seems it give your legs a long line. I like these the way that you have styled them. The red gets noticed first. YLF.

That white wrap tee is so pretty with the lace cami underneath. I think the jeans work perfectly well with this outfit, and so does that beautiful red blazer.

And btw girlfriend, you look neither short nor stumpy!
