WIW: VC Houndstooth Blouse & Vintage Cartier

I've shown you the VC Houndstooth blouse in my K/R thread but this is its first official wearing. I'm trying it buttoned right up and have paired it with my black cigarette trousers. To further play up the black/white of the blouse, I'm wearing my Doc Sara oxfords for footwear. It's a mild day today so my outerwear consists of my black leather blazer and then for some colour and a bit of vintage, I'm wearing my 1973 vintage Cartier burgundy leather handbag.

I'm pleased with this combination but what do you think? Proportions and combination work ok? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Leather jacket: Danier Leather
Blouse: Vince Camuto (NAS)
Trousers: Calvin Klein (thrifted)
Shoes: Doc Martens Sara oxfords
Handbag: vintager Cartier (consignment)

    Shannon, that is a fabulously slimming and chic outfit. I think the combination of the vertical lines of the jacket and placket of the top are elongating and the B&W mix is fab. I love that bag too. LOVE.

    This is a very retro look. It's wonderful. Your colleagues must so look forward to seeing you outfits each day, I know I do:). The pants look great and as Dianthus said it's a very streamlined and slender look.

    I like it! I think it shows your style confidence when you can wear few pieces in simple neutrals and still make a statement! Nicely done :-)

    I love it! The bag totally completes it IMHO.

    I think I'll go pick up my blouse from Nordstrom today -- crossing my fingers the repair was successful! You've got me wanting to wear it.

    I love this outfit! I really like black and white together especially with a pattern. The buttoned up blouse works especially well with the jacket.

    Una - I have no explanation as to why the Doc Sara's work for me but I'm glad they do. They are one of my favourite pairs of shoes.
