WIW: Team Wear Blazer

Bought the blazer yesterday and am wearing it today! The sleeves need shortening but I decided if I took it to the tailor's now I wouldn't get it back for a week and by then it could be too hot to wear it, so just cuffed and scrunched the sleeves. I hope it doesn't look silly or bulky.

I've paired the red blazer with my black clams and a black with white/grey polka dot drapey tank. I'm wearing my Fly London sandals and am using my black/white handbag. No jewelry other than wedding ring today.

I've never paired a blazer with clams before - does this work? How are colours and proportions? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer: Gap
Tank: Winners
Clams: Laura Petite
Sandals: Fly London
Handbag: Danier Leather (thrifted)

I think it looks great, Shannon. You look wonderful in brights, I am really jelous here :-)

Very nice Shannon. I like the proportions and use of color with neutrals. That top looks a lot like the polka dot sleeveless top I bought at winners a month or two ago. I think mine is JNY.. The dots add interest without color. Very well done.

Great pairing! I'm so happy you got this blazer. What a fun find at just the right time. I think it is best with the sleeves scrunched when you wear it with clams. I guess clams are ok in your office? They would be borderline in mine.

    Looks good to me :-)

I think you are now qualified to be Queen Blazer!

I think it works with the clams, especially since you're wearing a bit of a heel. Normally I would think the jacket needs to be more cropped, but this looks nice!

So delightful! Beautiful and fun. You are glowing in this.

Love the blazer on you and love it with it with the polka dots and clams.

I love your new jacket, Shannon, and I like how it looks with the clamdiggers.

It's interesting, I had always thought of clams as really casual, so it's taking a little getting used to dressier combinations like this. This look is growing on me, though, and you wear it well.

Just curious: as Rita brought up, are you all finding that clams are well-accepted in the work place now when part of a polished outifit like this one? Or in some places are they still being perceived as casual wear?

(This is coming from someone who wears scrubs at work, so I really have no idea.)

Thank you ladies! If you go by sheer numbers Janet, I am definitely Queen Blazer (soooo many but I love them)!

Rita/Parsley - clams are accepted in our office as the summer weather here can be very hot. I do like to try and dress them up a bit though so they don't border on too casual.

    Super cool, love!

Just gorgeous. The color of that blazer is great on you.

    LOVE! Cool outfit.

I really enjoy wearing dressy blazers with casual clams. It's my look!

  • replied 11 years ago

Thumbs up! You look great. You pull off that color really well.

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

I marvel at how well you pull off a bright red blazer with black, something I can't seem to do. Maybe the touch of white helps. You look great! You've inspired me to try my red blazer with black clams.

One of my favorite looks on you! The red blazer teamed with the black clams, and polka dot top and sandals is an 11 out of 10 in my book! I want to steal this look. I am going to pin it right now!

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

Elegant, polished and COLORFUL! Great look!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Super polished and lovely, Shannon, and perfect for this time of year.

I am jealous of your Fly sandals. I tried to buy some Flys (not this style...they don't have this style at my local store). But they didn't fit me properly. ;-(

I know. It's not me. It's the SHOES. Bwa hahahahah!

This looks amazing Shannon! I love blazers with clams (or walk shorts) now! That was a good move to just scrunch the sleeves and go, since warm weather is-a-comin'! I love the red with black and white on you. Stellar!

I love this look--your new blazer is fab!

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

Scrunch those sleeves and go! I think it looks better that way with the clams actually and the proportions of that blazer (short but not cropped) work well with the clams. Love this look and hope you can repeat before it's too hot.

Thanks everyone - I'm completley in love with my new blazer and so glad I got it!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Love! If I ever find a pair of clams that fit properly, I would wear this look to death :)

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

    Fab look, Shannon!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Ugh, I could have sworn I commented here this morning! I don't remember what I said, but Go Team Wear! This team cannot wait for alterations - love the blazer with clams, and I also really like how the circles on your sandal straps echo the dots on your blouse.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

    double post!
