WIW: Taking a stand with bare arms

Keeping up with Angie's challenge for us to take a stand with our summer bodies, today's outfit started with a new sleeveless tribal-like print blouse in navy and white. My arms aren't toned and are very white but it's going to be hot today and I'm going to feel free darn it!!!

Paired with the navy blouse are my dark wash slim leg jeans, rolled to showcase some alluring ankles. I went with my nude pointy toe kitten heel pumps (so in love with these shoes - they work with EVERYTHING). Accessories include my new sand/navy sequined canvas clutch, big chrome/white watch and silver/abalone shell ring. Forgot my lipstick for the pic :( but it will be red.

    I see no reason to keep your arms under cover! I understand though because my upper arms are not the feature I have the confidence in either.

    I love the outfit but I especially keep marveling at how much I really love your new hair!

    Navy is fantastic on you , Shannon.  This is a perfect office look for a more casual Friday - and I agree that those shoes are working overtime for you - good buy.  And - cute little bag!!  I think the squarer cut of the top and the wider shoulders on it make one's bare arms less of an issue - in other words, your arms aren't the focal point here where they would be if the top had cut-in shoulders or was more body-con.  10/10 !  I'm going for the same thing today - baring arms and legs too ;)  Put on your sunglasses if you see me .

    Really great outfit. I have a sweet eye for jeans and pumps, they just add a perfect polish to the ensemble. You look so fab!

    Janet - thanks for the hair compliment. I will confess, even though it sounds rather selfish, that I kinda love my new hair too. It's so much fun having hair to play with - although it went a little too poofy for me today.

    Ledonna - I thrifted this watch at least 5 years ago and it has been a favorite.

    Lisa - you know, that's an interesting observation about the wider shoulders and square cut of the top. I need to keep that in mind. And not to worry - I have my sunnies in the car should we run into each other today - lol :)

    I love the outfit and I love that you are baring your arms.  Everyday I'm making little decisions to put me right on the edge of comfort in terms of my body and I'm finding it very freeing.  I've recently started wearing belts (what? no way!) and tucking in shirts (major phobia!) and guess what, the world didn't end and nobody laughed at me and I looked pretty darn cute.  It's still a little chilly in NYC but I hope it warms up enough to bare my arms soon too.

    NIce look!  It reminds me that I should wear my similar pumps more often.  I think your arms look perfectly normal.  I wouldn't give them a second glance if I saw you on the street.

    Thanks all - just rushing out the door from work. Got a text from hubby and it seems we're meeting some friends after work for happy hour on a patio. And you know what? I'll be baring my arms there and I guarantee no one is going to care!

    Shannon this is a gorgeous outfit.  I am envious of your shoes, it's not easy to find 'your' nude.  I think your arms look lovely and there is no need to keep them covered. My arms have always been good but of recent times I am aware of more 'flab' and have been tempted to cover them but have decided not to.  If anyone has the time to judge/assess my arms then they really don't have enough to do lol.  BTW, in the store where I work, I would say the number one complaint women have about their bodies is their arms!!

    You look lovely the whole combination of crops, flowing shirt and nude shoes look great. Your arms look good. I know a lot of people worry about their arms but we are our own harshest critics.

    What a good decision. Your arms are very pretty and if you've got them, flaunt them! Cuffed jeans are the cutest. What a great little outfit you have going for the summer. Very inspiring.
