WIW: Sunday with my BF

I don't know what has happened but I've had a complete mind shift when it comes to the boyfriend jeans for me. Maybe it was a matter of getting used to the new silhouette - I don't know. But we're heading out for brunch at a local restaurant (very casual place) so remembering Suz's comment on Friday that this graphic tee would go great with my BF jeans, I popped on the tee and my larger pair of the Gap BF jeans. I'm wearing my Boutique 9 peep toe booties which give me a bit of heel and two new red items I picked up at Danier Leather this week during their outlet sale. I've been wanting a wider red belt so found this one and also found a red clutch replacement for the one that got crushed at Kristin's wedding. Love the small size and simple design of this one.

I'm really happy with this outfit and feel good in it - who knew? What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

    WOW, Shannon, that's fantastic! I LOVE you in taupe (well, I would, wouldn't I???) but I love this T shirt full stop. It is fantastic with the red accents. And what a great look! Love that BF with the booties.

    Love this, Shannon. I am so glad you are accepting your BF and make them work. You were right, it is not as much about body flattery as about attitude and this outfit has it in spades!
    Adorable kitties! Mine love to watch all critters too bu they usually sit on the window...

    Elegantly slouchy!

    Your breakup-makeup journey with your handsome BF is a good vicarious lesson for me. I now accept that my various on-again, off-again feelings about slouchy garments are perfectly normal. The weather changes, our need for comfort changes, and the face we want to show the world changes. Of course! I really like this realization, Thank you, Shannon.

    Angie - I totally agree that this tee is better and I think it is because it has some slouchiness in it - is that correct? I also find I like the larger size of my BF's more and with the cuff down one so there is more pant showing. I feel like it gives me a little longer leg line. Is the length ok here? Yes, my BF and I have had our troubles but I think we're gonna be ok!

    Suz - thank you soooo much for the suggestion to wear this tee with the BF's.

    Sveta - the BF's are definitely about attitude and not figure flattery. And it took me a while to accept that. I felt a bit edgy in this casual ensemble and I enjoyed that feeling a lot.

    I prefer everything about this tee, Shannon - the shape, sleeve style, neckline, colour, pattern ......and slouch. Yes! The BF's length is great :)

    Oooh, I LOVE the more pronounced half tuck with the BFs! Definitely one of your best BF outfits to date. Is your new BF love contagious? Could you sneeze in a box and mail it to my DH??

    Looks like you have hit your stride with this look. :o)

    I haven't done the BF per se, but I am learning to let my pants slouch down on my hips and embrace the bagginess, instead of purging them. Over-sized pants worn at the waist look awful. Belted at the hips is a different story. I wish it would work with dress pants too, I'd save a lot of money!

    Rae - maybe it's my hubby who should sneeze into the box 'cause he actually really REALLY liked this outfit! He called it "sexy slouch" (Suz - yep, him with the word "sexy" again!).

    Ali - "tempestuous romance" - lol! You got that right - but I'm warming up to this BF of mine and I think our romance is blossoming! You are so sweet remembering my babies' names. Gain and Dusty thank you.

    JR - took me a long, long time to hit my stride and it's still a work in progress. But I'm getting there.

    Thanks MaryK - this tee has a bit of silk in it and I think that's what helps with it's soft drape and maybe gives it a bit more of a sophisticated look.
