I am so sorry you and tour son got food poisoning...how awful. You look wonderful though:). That sweater is just lovely. Proportions look perfect and this is a fab casual but still smart outfit.

I really like this outfit! I am always drawn to striped sweaters, and your booties are fab - is the toe darker than the rest of the boot? It looks that way in the photos. Love it!
And i hope you are feeling back to normal soon. I love to cook, and it's always been my nightmare to give my guests food poisoning!

What a drag to go back to work today. In Ontario we received a large amount of snow last night, it is good I am off as I don't think I could have driven in today.
You look great, as usual.
How did you get the food poisoning, the chicken or the sauce? One boxing day my mother gave it to all of us with the gravy drippings...ick.

Love the stripes, Shannon. I have to admit that as a PCG (Petite Curvy Girl, hee hee), I am always hesitant to wear horizontal stripes, but I think the proportions of the sweater are great and using the booties to bookend the red stripe creates great balance. Lovely!
And yikes, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Yes! Stripes with drop sleeves, red booties, great jeans, great bag! But I am sorry about the food poisoning. Also sorry for SIL - she must feel terribly! (My husband is always afraid he will poison the guests, not that he ever has.)

Shannon, so sorry to hear about the food poisoning. That sounds horrible! To tell the truth I am always surprised this doesn't happen even more often at this time of year. Everyone (at all points in the food production chain) is a bit rushed, distracted, busy.
You look fantastic for your casual day at work! That is the perfect ensemble for doing what you'll be doing! Love that sweater on you.

OMG, you poor thing! I hope you are feeling better soon. Holidays with the in-laws can always be fraught with peril. Seriously, I'm sure your poor SIL must be feeling pretty mortified right now. If it were MY family, she would never live this one down. It would go down in the annals of family history to be retold each year with increasing embellishment!
You have managed to look fabulous despite it all. Hugs!

Shannon I hope you and your family feel better soon. I'm sorry you had food poisoning putting a damper on your holiday festivities.
However, you don't look any worse for wear! Great outfit, and the red boots make is especially fab. I hope you have a relaxing week puttering around the office. In a way, I love clean-up because it gets me ready for a clean, shiny new start on the New Year. :)

So sorry that you had to spend your holiday like this...! How awful. Hope you fell better soon. It doesn't show t all in your pics. And what you are wearing is very cute, festive, zippy. Pants are perfectly cut and fall elegantly, sweater is original and shoes add a touch of fun.

How can someone look so good shortly after food poisoning? YLF!! Grotty that you were ill :(
I'm going to wear my dropped sleeve jumper today too. Thanks for the inspiration!

Karie - yes, the toe is darker than the rest of the boot and is one of the details I really like about them.
A - not really sure whether it was the chicken itself or the sauce - hard to know really and I suppose in the end, doesn't matter!
As for my poor SIL, the unfortunate part is this isn't the first time it's happened at her place. I'm afraid her "food handling practices" aren't always the best.
However, because I am Queen Best Attitude, I am looking at the food poisoning as a quick way to lose the excess Christmas goodies pounds and feel slimmer already!
Angie - I'm in love with dropped shoulder sweaters and yet can't figure out why. I have narrow, very sloping shoulders. Why does a dropped shoulder work on me?
Thanks for your lovely comments. I do feel quite comfy and ready for my day, but still put together.

You look great especially for someone recovering from food poisoning. At leas one of you was well enough to take care of the sick ones....
Love the colors in the sweater and the boots that pop!

You are looking deliciously fab, TS. So sorry about the food poisoning. How dreadful. That is my nightmare....that guests come over and everyone gets sick.

Oh boy, that was a rotten turn of luck. I'm glad you're feeling better. You certainly look good! The proportions are just right.
I'm also narrow of shoulder and find that dropped shoulder tops work on me. I think it's because the seams are set wider apart and create an illusion of broader shoulders.

Yikes, Shannon! So this isn't the first incidence. I think dear SIL should be relegated to bringing chips and paper products for future family gatherings!

How is it possible that someone could look so fabulous after a bout of food poisoning. That is my nightmare. The stripes are very flattering on you and the jeans balance the proportions so well. Just lovely!

Thank you all for kind words and well wishes - I feel much better today but you wanna hear something positively ironic and hilarious? I went to the local hospital eatery at lunch time to pick up something because I had forgotten my lunch on the kitchen counter this morning and guess what the special of the day was? Yep...chicken slouvaki! I laughed liked crazy...and got a garden salad instead.
