WIW: Spreading the love

Nine times out of ten these days, when I wear jeans, I reach for my TR Cameron's. I'm so in love with those jeans it's crazy! But today I decided to spread the love a little and grab an old pair. 

A year or so ago, Angie had done an outfit spread with Canyon River Blues slouchy skinnies from Sears. I fell for those jeans and promptly bought them in three sizes since I didn't really know which ones would fit. The smaller pair didn't do up, middle pair was a snugger fit and fit like regular jeans and the larger pair slouched nicely and were the ones I wore for a bit. Then I shrunk a little and moved down to the middle pair. I had never returned any of them since the price was so reasonable and the shipping cheap. Well the middle and larger size are gone now since they ended up being much too big and today I'm wearing the smallest of the sizes (whoo hoo!) I'm not entirely sure the whiskering at the front is the most flattering but I don't mind - I really like the jeans and with the flat pockets (unlike the Cameron's), they give a bit of a sleeker slim BF silhouette. Plus I like the more indigo colour for a change.

I've paired the jeans with a colour block winter white and black knit that I bought in August waiting for the cold weather. It is a lovely weight with decent slouch so have semi-tucked and added a red leather belt. To bookend the belt, I'm wearing my red booties (back in a heel - yay!). I've added my black leather handbag, black/white oversized watch and silver wedding band.

When I head out the door, I'll be wearing my fauxberry scarf (look MaryK - I have one too!) and cranberry coat. 

What do you think? Are these jeans working? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

    Shannon, you really know how to put everything together.  Those jeans look great.  The red/maroon accents, including your lips, are perfect.

    I love, love, love #4! The jeans look okay to me but the whiskers sort of call attention to themselves, which may or may not be what you want.

    You're looking good in your black and white with red accents, Shannon, and doesn't it feel good to get into something that you previously couldn't wear?

    Congrats on your weight loss! The same garment in different sizes really puts things in perspective, you did the right thing keeping them all.

    Love this! The clean silhouette is lovely and the little punches of red when not wearing your coat are fab. Then the coat adds more red and winter cheer. And well done for getting down to the smallest pair of jeans :)

    Hmmmm...in looking at these pics the whiskering on these jeans is very obvious, isn't it? It kind of gives me "poochy crotch"! It doesn't seem that obvious IRL but sure shows up in the pictures. 

    I have decided this early into the season that this cranberry coat is my Purchase of Winter 2013. It is warm, comfortable, soft, love the color and adore the fit. So glad I bought it :)

    I adore that sweater! You look terrific in the jeans. The pops of red are a nice touch and that delicious coat is the cherry on top. Congrats on fitting into those jeans - going down 2 sizes is no small feat!

    Black and white sweater? Yes please! And I love it paired with the pops of red. That coat is gorgeous on you so I understand why it is a favorite of your purchases. Congrats on getting into the smallest sized jeans!!

    Nothing more primal than the jeans test for weight loss!  You're looking healthy and happy! 

    I'm not a big fan of whiskering or blingy pockets, but I saw these in the store, and I loved the weight and drape of the denim --- they look and feel like premium denim.  For that reason, and the fact that the whiskering isn't exaggerated, I think these jeans are fab.  Love the red booty (maybe I'll copy that) and the colorblocked sweater, too!

    And the red coat will be so perfect for a long winter!

    Me loveth. really digging this. I have been in a style rut recently and not much seems to cheer me or inspire me but I just love how svelte you look and all the accessories that turn this outfit up a notch to top notch! in my eyes.Thank you for the inspiration!

    Very nice, Shannon!  This outfit is graphic, casual and cool.  These look fantastic on.  The whiskering may not be in the textbook of figure flattery, but it adds interest and looks super cool.  (And may I say that you are looking very svelte!)

    Ahhhh your WIWs are a particular favourite, not just for your amazing style but Canadian content! FTW! (That's the red wine talking!)
    Have been wanting some winter (ie/ full length and medium wash) BF jeans, will have to see if Sears still has these.
