WIW: Something a bit different

Good morning lovelies :)

Today's outfit is introducing a new item as well as an altered item.

First up is my EF faux wrap pants. You may remember these in their full length incarnation but I decided in Spring to make them into cropped pants as they weren't working for me as full length. I'm thrilled with how they turned out although I know they won't be to everyone's liking.

Next up in my new EF cream silk tee - oh my, sooooo fab against the skin! This will work both tucked and untucked, casual and dressy.

Finally I topped everything with my long black EF crepe vest. I don't think the sleeves of the tee are great with the vest but I'm ok with that.

Citron handbag, nude peep toe sandal booties, red specs, red lip and gold watch round out the outfit.

This is quite different for me but along the lines of where I think my style might be heading. My happiness factor is pretty darned high. So does this work to your eye? JFE? As always, all comments/ suggestions welcome :)

You need to be the model/spokesperson for EF. Her pieces look fantabulous on you! I like the length of the pants. It looks very current and stylish with the booties.

This is a really fun look, Shannon. Very clean and minimal. I love to see people playing with the vest look -- it's one of those things that is outside my style but I am so intrigued. I really love it here -- and I love it with the tee (which sounds delicious as you describe it). And I like the length of the pants. I think they work at that length because of the taper. Nice with the booties.

Sadly, I cannot make them out in your picties, but I'm trying to imagine all the details there, and am sure RL style quotient  is as big as your happiness factor!  Love the yellow structured bag and nude shoes to it!

Karie - hmmmm....maybe I should contact Eileen and see if she's looking for anyone? You know...for a discount???

Viva - "clean and minimal". Thank you! I think that's kind of what I'm striving for in some way. And thanks for the vest love. Like you, it's outside my comfort zone but I'm drawn to them and am having fun trying to figure out how to style it.

lyn - I do apologize for the photo quality. Still working on how to take my best pics with my phone as my camera has died.

donnat & frannieb - thank you so much for your lovely comments :)

I love the nude booties, They are just slightly unexpected (I'm sure I would have have chosen black).

    Fluid and fab!

Looks great Shannon!  And how smart to alter the pants to work for you like this... they look great at that length.

I love the simple lines and colors on you.  I tried these pants on with a shopping friend who told me that my DH would not like them.  She is probably right but I did like the geometric lines and would buy them at a lower price.  They look great on you even with your small size. (I came away thinking these were for the tall ladies)

I was going to say the same as Lyn. I wish I could see the faux wrap on the pants. Does the shirt cover it ?
Regardless I do like this outfit and its proportions.

I can't make out the vest against the pants - i.e length of vest or detail of pants, but think the new length of the pants works well. I love the idea that this is the "new suit" - vest and matching crop pants.  Really interesting yet polished.  I don't mind the vest over the t-sleeve at all - looks fine to me too :)

I hope EF is going to start paying you soon, Shannon! I think you have single handedly made us ALL covet the brand! And I can't even buy it!

First off, with your killer smile, nothing can ever ever look JFE. It brightens up the frame! I doubt another short person can pull off this look with such panache, but you do a stellar job. I love these pants at this length. They are too lose, even if a streamlined shape, and the little ankle show is making them look spectacular. I'm sure the full length version overwhelmed your frame, didn't it?

I wish I could see the faux wrap, but I love what I do see. A fluid, relaxed fit that looks polished yet comfortable....a woman who is so happy in her clothes, she owns the look.

Also, I always love the last shot in your WIWs. The ode you pay to your pretty bags and shoes. They really make the 'experience' of watching your WIWs so pleasurable....kind of like I'm browsing through a fashion magazine and can see a close up shot of all the amazing pieces that go into making a perfect outfit. I love your style!

This seems perfectly in line with your style direction. Fluid. Easy. Professional. Your happiness shows.

    How did I miss this??

Shannon this is just a divine silhouette.  It's luxurious and sophisticated.  I probably would prefer a sleeveless top or an elbow length sleeve BUT I don't think this looks bad at all.  It's just that I am an all or nothing girl lol.

I am so copying this!!!  I think I could do this with my culottles.  It would be a slightly different silhouette but hey!  Need to earmark this for Spring.

    You look amazing.

Great look, you have the illusion of taller body even with cropped pant lengs, nice!

Love the experiment - good call on hemming the trousers.

Wow! Love it! The trouser length is great on you. Such a fab silhouette!
