WIW: Slouchy & Sparkly

It is getting tough to get dressed these days - my mind says it's Spring with the beautiful sunshine and longer days. But the cold weather and new snow we received yesterday tell me otherwise. However, it's the perfect kind of weather to bring out the new slouchy trousers I picked up yesterday - at the grocery store!

This is the debut of the new black slouchy Joe Fresh trousers. You can read about them here http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....y-trousers. They have a very wrinkled look so they may not be to everyone's taste. I've paired them with my sparkly dark blue hi-lo sweater that DS gave me for Christmas. As a nod to Spring, I'm wearing my kitten heel pointy toe pumps (with nude hose knee highs) to show a little skin. I've also scrunched my sweater sleeves for the same reason. I'm using my yellow/cobalt snakeskin clutch for a bit of colour and for jewelry, am wearing a funky little necklace I picked up at Value Village for $3.

What do you think? Do you like the trousers? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Laura Petite
Trousers: Joe Fresh
Shoes: Calvin Klein
Necklace: thrifted
Clutch: Trouve

Very nice Shannon. Are these the new shoes? I do like the trousers on you. Do you think there are other shoe options? I am wondering if they can work for casual wear but clueless in the foot department. I know spring is right around the corner!

Shannon I totally hear you about the weather except its the opposite here.  How about we swap!  This outfit is like therapy to me:). I won't hijack your thread with my "stuff", but just know that it's inspiring in the best way.

This silhouette is immensely flattering and the simplicity is breathtaking.  Fit is perfect on both the top and pants.  A beautiful outfit.

New trousers look great! I cannot see the "wrinkled
look in the pictures though :-)

I think those look good! Great find. That sweater is lovely as always. What do your Pettys look like with these pants? That might be fun too.

I've been waiting to log on to see this post!  They look GREAT Shannon, I'm definitely going to have to take another look.  Thanks so much for the heads up!

You look fab Shannon though sadly my computer screen refuses to show the finer detail even when I enlarge the pic :(
The silhouette really suits you though.

Hmmmm....interesting....this is the second time I've worn these shoes and folks have suggested other footwear. Is no one feeling the love for my kitten heel pointy toe pumps??? I paired the silky trousers with my pumps as per some of Angie's outfit inspirations in her blog post http://youlookfab.com/2013/03/.....ay-or-nay/. I'm actually kinda loving the combination myself.

Love the slouchy trousers on you, they look even better on you than in the stock shot. Terrific with the sparkly sweater. And I like you in the pointy pumps!
  • Deborah replied 11 years ago
Sorry Shannon, I didn't comment on the footwear....I love these shoes with the slouchy pants! The shoes add a lady like component to what is perhaps a more trendy look.  I think the shoes make this outfit look "grown up" in a good way.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that in my comment -- I was just thinking the dark trousers with a white bootie would also look springy!

I like these pumps with the pants too, and I really liked how you wore them with your jeans in the other post to show them!

Love this, Shannon!  In all honesty, I saw these trousers at my JCP and walked on by - looked to wrinkly and short.  Maybe I'll give them a try on.  They certainly look good on you!

Love the looks of the kitten heels here -- although I don't love the feel of them myself.  Do you notice a wobbly feeling from the narrow heel surface?  Maybe its just me!

Love the pendant over this sweater -- perfect detail!

I wish I could see the wrinkles!! They look fantastic from here, Shannon. Ditto the shoes and sweater. I love the whole outfit!

Are you having any issues with static cling?
  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago
Suz - no issues with static cling at all. Which I was worried about, especially with the rayon rubbing against the knee high hose. But so far, so good. I'm also noticing that the wrinkles effect is becoming less so as I wear the trousers. Which I'm almost disappointed about - I really like the wrinkles!

Shannon, I bet these would be the easiest to wash and dry ever....wash them, wring them up and then flatten out to dry.
  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago
That's what I'm thinking too Ceit - and no worries on the footwear :) I am going to try them with the python booties too for a white spring footwear option.

Thanks for your comments and input ladies - always appreciated.
  • Glory replied 11 years ago
I wonder if you could wring the pants to dry, leaving them in a wring position, like a crinkle shirt?
I love your shoe choice with it - I can see now how my question might have been mistaken as a comment. My question was me wondering if I could get away with a pump or some other shoe for everyday casual wear. I would love to try the pants and was wondering on styling options.

I love the silhouette you've got going here, Shannon. Sorry about the new snow, though. Will spring every come?!
  • Carole replied 11 years ago
Score! Love the whole ensemble. You are going to have loads of fun with those slouchy pants!
  • Angie replied 11 years ago
Your Winters are relentless! Come to Seattle.

You are doing a stellar job of looking stunning each day despite the bitter Winter weather, Shannon. LOVE the pumps with the trousers. Nice and fresh :)
  • rae replied 11 years ago
Ooh, so nice to see your spring version of this outfit! Love the silver pendant with it, and great eye spotting those pants at Joe Fresh. I heard that JC Penny is now carrying Joe Fresh in the States!
  • catgirl replied 11 years ago
It snowed here too, and we are expecting another foot or two this week!  You look fantastic.  We need a late winter support group.
  • rachylou replied 11 years ago
Ok. Well, maybe I will go to JC Penny and check out Joe Fresh... ;>

I like the pants and the clutch and the shoes... yaya, everything. Hehe.
  • Ornella replied 11 years ago
Wow, what a beautiful, beautiful outfit. I love absolutely everything about it and would wear this myself instantly if I had the ingredients.
  • Aida replied 11 years ago
Looove! And not just because I am also wearing a sparkly top, slouchy trousers, and kitten heels today (/highfive!). I think this outfit is perfect and wouldn't change a thing.
  • Mona replied 11 years ago
love the sloucy trousers, Shannon! I am going to Loblaws tomorrow to see if they have these trousers.
  • Thistle replied 11 years ago
Fab trousers, although I can't see the wrinkling.

i feel your pain on spring!  We're supposed to get more snow on Thursday.  By the time winter lets up, we'll be in tank tops and shorts for the hot summer!
  • Karie replied 11 years ago
I saw these pants on the JC Penney website and almost ordered them - the 28" inseam is what stopped me. I'm 5'8" and they might be too short. I like them so much on you that I might just have to pop in to my local JCP and try them on!
