WIW: Slouchy & Breezy

Hot again today (and so far, incredibly windy) so loose, cool and comfy is the uniform of the day. I started today with my taupe slouchy trousers, then added my hi-lo sleeveless purple/brown/cream animal print-ish silk blouse. My trusty Boutique 9 peep toe oxfords are my footwear and I've added my gold mesh cuff, mesh Tiger's Eye ring and dark brown raffia tote for accessories.

What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Trousers: Anne Klein
Blouse: Peter Nygard
Shoes: Boutique 9
Bangle: Michael Kors
Ring: thrifted
Handbag: thrifted

I love all the shades of gold/tan/brown with the pop of violet. Very sophisticated!

I like the blouse as you have done untucked with the pants. I think the hi low works with the slouchy pants whereas an even hemmed top wouldnt create quite the same look.. I am watching you closely so I know how to style my slouchy pants, I also like the amount of scrunch on these pants. Looking good Shannon.

Yes, yes, yes! Very nicely done Shannon. No pressure, but we are all taking notes!

I really love that blouse on you, which I don't recall seeing before. And I still love the slouchy pants with those shoes. And they look great together. So my comment is: cool!

I love this outfit on you, what beautiful shades in the top. I agree with Deborah the pants length is spot on. A thumbs up from me.

You look very modern today - airy, breezy and light, just like your weather. Enjoy!

You look so fresh and cool! Love the effect from the front!

Is this the blouse that needed to be shortened at the back?

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Oh! And I love that you are shiny from neck to ankle :)

  • Meredith1953 replied 11 years ago

The colors are all beautiful together and that top is just gorgeous! You make the slouchy pant look look very sophisticated!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Angie - yes it is the blouse that needs to be shortened at the back. Confession time though - I haven't gotten it shortened yet so am wearing the too long version :(

Thank you ladies for your lovely comments.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

No worries! It might be worth shortening at the back though. It's a great blouse on you otherwise :)

Love this one. I think of slouchy as a more casual look but you have done it in a way that has a nice level of sophistication. I LOVE that bag.

Me likey! You look like a very modern and elegant Princess Jasmine. :) I really like this look for a hot day.

I love this breezy and shimmering look on you! A touch of glam, actually and it works!

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

Beautiful, Shannon! I love that your cuff and bag both have a mesh texture vs the silky smoothness and flow of the top and pants alike, while the violet flower bridges the blouse pattern and the bag too. Brilliantly coordinated.

Those slouchy pants just keep getting better & better. Love the tan & purple.

OMG, Shannon - I think we are trouser twins! I believe got the same AK pants at the Rack! They are a golden-tan, heavy silky material and have cuffs, and a nice sheen. I am working on styling them, so I will be looking to you for inspiration. The best thing for me is that they are really flattering from behind on my flat derriere.

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

I love these trousers every time you wear them! Great outfit!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Thanks Dianthus, Rae, Harmonica, Manidipa, Una and Jayne!

Una - slouchy twins? How cool! Mine didn't have cuffs though but I bet they're just two slightly different versions of the same trouser. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

I think I am a trouser cousin - my slouchy pants are AK but in black (and not shiny). Maybe AK is doing a lot of slouchy trousers? I have yet to wear mine as so far my work has been very very active (so denim or black slim leg ponte trousers) but next week I close and will be good time to try it.

I think those slouchy pants in taupe have proven to be far more versatile than you expected! Play nicely with that top and fun colors for warm day.

I love this! (And high five - I am wearing my taupe slouchy pants today too!) I really like the luxe yet relaxed effect of the slouchy, silky, drapey pieces together and the sophisticated color palette. Very nice!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Christieanne - you are so right! I really thought I'd only have one way to wear these trousers and that I'd get sick of them. But I keep finding things in my closet that work with them and find them so comfy and easy to wear. Who knew?

Diana - thanks fellow slouchy lover!
