WIW: Shades of White

Angie - I have a HUGE thank you for introducing me to the concept of white and cream. Not just in the warm summer months, but also in winter. I did have that old wive's tail in my head about no white after Labour Day….ridiculous! So today's outfit combines three different shades of white/cream in your honour :)

The outfit started with my bootcut jeans to which I added my green/blue/cream camp inspired top (BTW after seeing the pictures and how sheer the front of the top is, I added a cami). On top of that, I added my white leather jacket. Then for footwear, I went with these newly thrifted bone mid calf cow-girlish boots. I fell for these light coloured beauties the moment I saw them and the fact that they are a 10 out of 10 on the comfort scale and are all leather just added to my love. I like the light coloured toe peeking out from under the jeans. To add the third white element, I chose my large light cream leather handbag.

I'm really happy with how this turned out for a Casual Friday - what do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket & handbag: Danier Leather
Top: Dex
Jeans: Jessica Simpson
Boots: Heavenly Feet (thrifted)

Love the top with the white outfit! It's a great top, because depending on what you pair it with, it completely changes the mood of it.

You look terrific! Absolutely love the pops of winter white/bone/cream you have incorporated in your outfit. They really brighten the whole look. The new boots are fab.

Nice, Shannon! Those boots are comfy even with those heels - better yet. I also really like the colors and movement of your top.

Very nice, Shannon. I love how the patterned top adds interest to the solids.
Thumbs up on the white jacket and cream color bag.

    Perfect!
Must get my sleeves shortened on my jacket... so much for a long season of not wanting to wear it!

What a classy Friday outfit!  And, I have been meaning to tell you that I love how your last photo shows close-ups of your WWI.  You are looking amazing!

Its so refreshing to see creams and whites in the winter especially because the days are so short and all the offerings in the stores are so dark heavy and saturated. I love the balance you've created in this outfit.

Wowza, Shannon!  This outfit has a bit of "celebrity in an airport" pop.  Love the light boots peeking out and the light near your face.

I think it is stunning, Shannon!! Wow. SOOOOOO glad you got that leather jacket. It is the perfect complement to your black Danier and was completely worth the wait and trouble to be PPP.

    What a pretty top, too.

What do I think?????  I think that this is one of your best outfits ever.  Super find on those boots - love that color - and that top with your beautful white leather jacket is superb!  You have definitely "nailed" the shades-of-white ensemble!  Gorgeous!
(I am also one of those who owe Angie a huge thank-you for introducing me to the wonders of white!)

Love this outfit :) the white jacket is gorgeous, love the colours and pattern of that little top and the boots "thrifted"? Excellent work there :)
I have a pair of off white wedge style booties on order for our coming winter so you have just provided me with lots of inspiration :)

What fab find with those boots!  And the jacket looks truly spectacular.

    YLF!

Shannon, are you sure you're not on Danier's payroll? bc you've definitely gotten me to sit up and pay attention.

    Literally.

The other day in a meeting, I noticed the label inside the leather coat of a man I wasn't otherwise listening to much. Danier. The meeting was about an acquisition that probably won't happen (otherwise management wouldn't have plunked the conference room full of non-rankers like me) but a guy wearing the same label Transcona Shannon favors probably knows a thing or two. OK tbh I still didn't listen but I got some flyfishing tips from him afterward, and yep, he knows stuff!

He didn't look half as good in his jacket as you do in yours, though!

I so want a white jacket now ... I think I could cry. Lol! Love how it adds a punch to your outfit! YLF as always!

Shannon this looks beautiful. The lighter tones work so beautifully with your salt and pepper hair. Still cannot believe your thrifting luck :) Gorgeous boots.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

I'm with others, this is one of your best outfits I've seen.  The white is divine on you.  And the fit of that jacket is spot on.  A lovely look!

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

Once more your thrifting skills amaze, you could teach a class. I love how this outfit is both moody and hopeful at the same time.

  • JenA replied 10 years ago
