WIW: Shades of blue (ETA close up of sweater added)

Yesterday, my boss announced that we could now wear jeans on Fridays as long as they are dressy, darker wash, trouser style jeans. Well aren't I lucky to have a pair of those in my closet?!

So today's outfit started with these trouser jeans that I have had for at least 3-4 years. At times they don't fit because they're too small (or too big) but I've never gotten rid of them because when they do fit, I love wearing them. I paired the jeans with a very light weight knit in various shades of blue and teal with a small citron thread running through. Overtop of that, I've added my navy Lanai blazer. For footwear, I went with my blue-purple suede booties, although for walking to and from my car, I will have on my winter boots and will change into the suede booties in the office. I didn't have time to change my handbag, so am using my black leather bag again today. Jewelry is my silver wedding band and a lovely cobalt and silver cuff bracelet that MIL gave me for my birthday.

I'm really happy with how this turned out and think this is casual but professional. What do you think - does it work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer: Theory
Knit pullover - ana Petite (thrifted)
Jeans: Reitmans
Booties: Aerosole
Handbag: Danier Leather

ETA: I've added a close up of the sweater colors/knit pattern for Adorkable.

Of course you have just the right jeans for … euh… the job:-)
This is a great casual Friday at the office look, Shannon, and I was thinking the same thing as Ceit: your new job really agrees with you. Which is brilliant!

It's great! You look happy and comfortable and I like the colors.

I'm curious about the shirt up close since it reads turquoise in a photo.

You look sensational. And aren't you clever to hang onto those jeans? Love the whole thing.

Very nice look, Shannon.  Love the cobalt booties as an antidote to the dark winter.  Happy Friday!

I don't hang on to too many things once they don't fit 'cause they take up space and tend to make me feel bad about my body. But I have a few items I will won't let go of because when they do fit, they feel great on and IMHO look good on. These jeans are one of those. And they cost all of $20!

Ceit & Inge - I am indeed very happy with my decision to change jobs. It has turned out even better than I had hoped for and is one of the best choices I have ever made. Does it actually show???

Adorkable - I've added a close up of the top's pattern and colors so you can see the details.

    Thanks ladies :)

Fantastic outfit, Shannon!  The sweater is a great find, the colourway is very cool, and you look great in your trouser jeans!    Do I remember correctly that you found the attire in your new workplace to be quite casual?  Odd that you wouldn't have jeans Friday...

I like it EVEN MORE up close! Thanks!

Fantastic! (And you have inspired me to hold onto my trouser jeans a bit longer at least...)

What a great fit those trouser jeans are and the various shade of blue are delicious! Happy Friday Shannon, YLF!

Love it! I don't care if "they" will let folks wear distressed jeans or droopy jeans to work in more corporate environments (as opposed to IT and creative firms), Fridays or not, I think THIS is the way to wear jeans to work if you're allowed (okay, and a few more ways, even with my narrow style filter). With all of the other elements polished and interesting but not so casual. Brilliant!
