WIW: Pushing my comfort zone - again! (ETA new pic added)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but not only have I made peace with my BF, I've totally embraced him! So for casual day at work today, I'm wearing my BFs with a dark purple tank and topped it with my Gap leather asymmetrical leather jacket that has these cool "flaps" in the front. For footwear, I'm wearing my Clarks taupe/olive lace up boots. Then for accessories I've added my vintage men's tribal belt, gold mesh cuff and my Grandmother's locket. For the finishing touch, I'm wearing my snakeskin handbag today.

Does this work? How are the proportions and all of the elements together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Update: I noticed from the pictures that the jeans were sitting a little too high. I've undone the belt a notch so that they are sitting much lower - thank goodness for pictures!

The last picture is one Kristin took for me quick at work with the pants sitting lower. Much better I think.

    Shannon I'm so glad that you have made peace with your BF! I think you have really made them work in with your wardrobe. This jacket is really stunning. Yes this totally works and I have no suggestions, it's perfect as is.

    Love this, Shannon! It looks cool, comfortable, and is very you. I am so glad you worked through the BF issues, and are getting into your stride with them, I love the looks you have been coming up with.

    Wow -- I was impressed by your subject line and am even more impressed by the photo!

    What happens if you roll the jeans a bit higher, Shannon? Do the boots then start to look wrong? My one thought was that I wanted the roll to hit slightly closer to the knee, but I'm not sure what that would do for the boots (which I am coveting, BTW.)

    Okay. WHEN did you buy that GAP jacket??? Look at at that TAUPE beauty!! I want one! Maybe I can ebay it if it's from last year.

    I love this on you! It's so easy, breezy, and gently subdued. This is a fab fall/winter formula for the BFs - a mid-height lace up boot, a T or top, a jacket. The jacket's details and your accessories really dress up the BF and make him work-worthy!

    Now why do I love that bag SO much on you and other and dislike it for me, I wonder? Hmmm. It's not just the colour (I ordered a different one). I actually love the colour of the bag I got. Angie says the little gold chain is not me, and I think she is right.

    April - I hear you about the rolling the jeans a bit shorter but I have found for my comfort level and to not shorten my leg line too much, I prefer them a wee bit longer. I hope it looks ok!

    Suz - I bought this jacket two years ago at Gap. It's lined and very soft leather and the asymmetrical draping parts in the front are fabric. They have it this year in suede and I've posted for you to have a peek at. As for the handbag, the chain handle is only the shoulder strap - what would you think if you took the shoulder strap off and carried it like a satchel, the way I do? Would you feel differently about it then?

    I love this outfit. The jacket, tee, tank, and belt work so well together. Then, the way you took your more classic accessories and added them into the mix is just perfect. Totally fab.

    And BTW, Shannon, I just called Nordstrom and they gave me a price adjustment on "our" bag because it's been further discounted since the NAS! If you haven't done so, hurry up and pick up the phone! I just needed my original order number and they credited the difference back to my account! Yay!!
