WIW: PPPPants

I feel like Goldilocks with these black watch trousers - first pair was too big, second pair I ordered was too small, and this pair is JUST RIGHT! PPP definitely paid off in getting the exact fit I wanted - a bit of ease but still slim fitting. I will confess I just got them the other day and haven't had time to shorten them so just rolled them once so I could be on Team Wear. I hope that looks ok.

I've paired the trousers with my new navy v-neck cashmere. I have been looking for the right weight, fit, and colour of this sweater for almost two years and finally found it - again with Lord & Taylor. It's not a super dark navy colour but then that's not what I was looking for.

For footwear I chose again my black patent booties and am using my black leather handbag. When I head out the door I'll be topping it all with the Spiegel leather jacket. Jewelry is my rose gold/black watch and my gold wedding band.

I feel good in this. It's really a fairly simply and minimal outfit but I feel put together, stylish and comfortable. What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater and trousers: Lord & Taylor
Booties: Ara
Handbag: Danier Leather
Jacket: Spiegel
Watch: Fossil (via eBay)

Love your title! PPP really paid off. The pants are perfect with black and navy. What a great outfit!
What would you suggest about sizing in these pants?

    Looks fantastic, Shannon!

I am loving plaid this season and you know I adore those trousers. I have a black watch plaid blazer that I wear with navy pants - we need to get together and go out, we'd look like flips of each other!

OMG, it is like looking at a WIW I could have posted yesterday except my top had a round neck.  I wore the pants and the lemming jacket.   I saw the L&T wool sweaters but had already checked out so didn't try them.  Maybe I will have to go back and check them out.

I am totally loving those pants on you.

Yay!  And they look completely perfect too!

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

I would have been annoyed and given up and lived with an improper fit!  LOL :D  Good on you Shannon!  You look gorgeous as always and the v-neck sweater is truly worth the wait!

PP Perfection!! You were right to hold out for the perfect pants and sweater. This is classic fabness for autumn!

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

You are looking SO GOOD! Those pants are terrific on you, congrats for getting the right ones.

I tried on some tartan pants in L&T yesterday (not these but I didn't see these), and they were way too high-waisted for me. A shame since they were actually long enough for a change, and had a nice narrow straight leg. I can see it will be a challenge to find tartan pants that work!

Shannon, you look fantastic!  I am so glad you found a fit you are happy with - they look amazing.  The whole outfit is very fab.

Current, classic and cozy - i would love to have this outfit too!
Way back when in my banking days I had a pleated wool black watch plaid skirt that I absolutely loved.

  • Marmee replied 10 years ago

I love this outfit.  Now I want black watch trousers!

Wow!  I think each and every one of those P's should stand for "Perfection!"  :)

You cannot believe how thrilled I am that I tried the petite size. What a difference. Lesson to self: ALWAYS try on more than one size before leaving the store to be sure!

Joy - I would say the sizing is fairly TTS. To be completely honest thought, I'm a little unsure of my size these days so I could be off. I think Dianthus found them to be TTS.

BTW I figured out what to do with the first pair I bought that were too large and had been shortened thereby not able to return. I adore the fabric so am deconstructing the trousers and using the fabric to make two toss cushions for my bed. They will work beautifully with my soft green and cream color scheme and give my room an autumn feel. Now I won't have to feel guilty for buying two pairs!

    Adore this outfit so much.

Before you chop, any chance you could make them into slouchy shorts?

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

  • Elizabeth P replied 10 years ago

OMGosh, I love these!  I missed your initial posts, but your perseverance obviously paid off.

Can I ask... what is the inseam?  I have no interest in ankle pants, and that's obviously what they are on the model... who might be 6' tall...

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Yay. You eventually found the right size in these trousers. It was worth it, Shannon. They look sensational, and just what you need in your long cold Winters. Go Team Tartan. Loving the check matched with the blue and black.

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

Love it - the fit is fab.

  • Nicole D replied 10 years ago

Yes!  Great job on pursuing the perfect fit.  Now what to do with the non fitters?

  • K. Period. replied 10 years ago

Lovely! I love plaid trousers too, but my perfect ones are still eluding me.  For now, I will just have to gaze at your lovely ones and dream.  BTW, love the crinkle patent boots with them.  Polished, but a little tough. Fab!

  • Gigi replied 10 years ago

Absolutely beautiful. Polished, and I love the color combinations. And the jacket gives it a little edge. Awesome!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

I love this outcome! Totally fab outfit on you. The shoes, bag and watch are great, too. I saw the earlier too-big and too-small trousers, and these are wonderful. Glad you found the right fit.

  • Debora replied 10 years ago

Perfect and a really cool look for you! So glad your patience paid off. :)

  • rebekahphoto replied 10 years ago
