WIW: Patent & Polka Dots

Today's outfit started with my burgundy skinnies which turned out to be a fantastic purchase for fall/winter. I paired them with my cream/black dalmation print wrap blouse with hi-lo hemline. This blouse is definitely an item I would describe as not conventionally flattering - it hides my waist and much of my shape while at the same time, making sure no wobbly bits or muffin top are visible.

I then added black patent bookends with my booties and a recently thrifted Danier Leather clutch. Yep - found this pretty shiny baby at Value Village for $3.99!

Gold wedding band and rose gold/black watch complete the outfit.

So what do you think? Does it work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blouse: Dorothy Perkins Petite

Oh my Shannon! Danier leather clutch for only $3.99 from value village. Our value village is so disappointing. I can never find any thing decent in there.
The polka dot silk blouse is so much fun. I envy that you can wear a silk blouse with no topper indoors in this weather. I am cold even in three layers.

Our Value Village is not great either. We have a new thrift store opening, some chain from out west I think, I wonder what it will be like.

You look super. I love the richness of the blouse with the shiny booties. I also like you chose burgundy instead of black pants.

I love the shiny find!! Matches your booties perfectly!! I think this is a fab outfit. And I love flowy blouses over skinnies. Its like magic over the muffin top :)

Does it work she asks!!!!! Of course it does :)

I love how the burgundy adds structure to the outfit, and the warm color picks up the cream in the blouse. Well done! You look terrific as always. The clutch was a bargain - lucky you.

On a side note: I'm contemplating asking you for help to find a spring/summer leather bag from Danier :) You certainly have a knack for finding the good ones.

You look beautiful. I love the very elegant drape of the blouse. Yes, it DOES look flattering on you… especially since you added structure with the burgundy skinnies. Your newly thrifted clutch is lovely. A super find! (Wish we had better consignment and thrift stores in my neck of the woods.)

Wow, that was a great find! I guess your thrifting days are not completely over, when beauties like that appear for the taking! :)

Love the blouse, too. It looks wonderful on you. Like Mona, I marvel you can wear it without more layers over or under -- I'd be chilled to the bone!! But I know that hospitals sometimes keep the heat up really high, probably higher than my house, LOL.

Great outfit Shannon, from top to bottom.  Yay on the Danier clutch!  I never go to Value Village, unless it's Halloween costume shopping... maybe I should...

The burgundy skinnies are fantastic and I love the patent leather touches. How great that not only can you shop at Danier but occasionally find their bags at thrift stores!

This is a wonderful outfit, although I have a hard time getting past that great clutch find.
I have a blouse in this shape in my shopping cart but hope that it will go on sale. Do you find it easy to wear?

Ingunn - I would be thrilled to assist you in finding a spring/summer handbag. I was tickled when I could send you the white clutch last summer. Send me a PM when you're ready with what you're looking for and we can collaborate.

Suz - you're right in that I've pretty much stopped thrifting for clothes but I do still go and look for accessories as I can still find some good things in that category.

Mona & Suz - it's actually not as cold today here as it was yesterday so I'm quite comfortable in my blouse.

Joy - this is my first cross over blouse and I find it super easy to wear and very comfortable - it works well on its own and also layers beautifully under a jacket. I also like how the lower hem in the back peeks out underneath a blazer. Next time I wear it I'll show you with a jacket over top.

    Thanks all :)

Another fab outfit. I love the blouse on you :)

Gorgeous!  Love the patterned blouse, especially with burgundy skinnies. Pretty and fluid with the right offset in the trousers.

That clutch is an amazing find!  Truly lovely, and so on trend. Thrifting Queen for sure!

Good grief, Shannon!  You and your thrifted bags just slay me!  You look completely adorable, as usual!  I hope you are staying warm!  :)
