WIW: Pastel Party

When I bought this pastel drapey tank about a month ago (when shopping with DS), I had no idea that it would work with my pastel blue suit jacket - YAY for happy surprises!

Today's outfit started with the tank - I layer a white tank underneath that has higher underarm holes for modesty coverage. I then paired that with my new EF white cropped pants. These are made of the same fabric as the black pair. I realize that the slight flare at the hem won't be to everyone's liking but I actually like that they are not skin tight and therefore don't resemble leggings.

I then topped that with my pastel blue suit jacket, with scrunched sleeves for added structure. I chose my bone/silver sandal shoes and large cream leather handbag, as well as purple/clear specs to complete the outfit.

I'm happy with how this looks together - what do you think? Does it work? How is the length of the cropped pants? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Anne Klein
Tank: Gentlefawn
Pants: Eileen Fisher
Shoes: Fugitive
Handbag: Danier Leather

Oh my! I'm busy for a few hours and pop back in and find these incredible and enthusiastic comments. Thank you all so much :)

I'm finding I like wearing white and light colors just as much as I like wearing navy and black.

All these colors look fab on you – I love your top!

Love you in lighter colors, and I'm inspired!  It's hard to do these shades while avoiding looking like a preteen or a stereotypical "elderly lady."  You are sleek and grown-up here, and it's all very flattering.  I adore art deco and art nouveau, and the design in the top has a graphic, slightly vintage feel, which works beautifully for you.

I think it all works perfectly!

    WOW

    Killer

Soooo different for you. I'm loving the fresh and on trend look. xo

Beth Ann - it was actually the art deco design on the shirt that first caught my attention.

Thanks Jean (how nice to hear from you!) and Rachy :)

Angie - thank you so much. If you don't mind me asking, what is it about this that is so different for me? Is it the pastel color combination? The drape shape of the tank? The cropped pants? Just curious :)

Oh wow Shannon, I want to steal *ahem* borrow (no wait, steal was right ^^) this whole look!! LOVE it so very much, and what a gorgeous tank as the cornerstone. I agree with Angie, it is a bit different for you. Graphic in a soft way as opposed to a harder or typically high contrast way. The pants look fab to me, slight flare and all. If you don't need the big bag, I'd be tempted to pop a clutch on with this to further play up the graphic vibe.

Aida - I totally agree. After I left the house this morning I wished I had taken the extra 5 minutes and switched to my white clutch.

I love the print on your top -- it's so art deco meets summertime. The color pallet is absolutely gorgeous and I love the cut of the light blue and how nicely it contrast with your silver and white accessories. Marking as a favorite. I can't copy but I can be inspired :-)
