WIW: Oversized sweater for day off work

I have the day off today to get some work done on my car and then hopefully finish up my Christmas shopping.

I'm wearing a newly purchased Lord & Taylor merino wool blend oversized striped sweater. I bought this sweater yesterday when out with MIL. This is now my third Lord & Taylor item (slouchy black trousers, animal print cardigan being the other two). I'm in love with their fabrications - their cashmere and their wool are so comfortable, non itchy and soft. I also like their colours, shapes and slight nod to retro and preppy while still being current and modern. Because my wardrobe consists primarily of work items, I'm wanting a few tops that can be worn for casual wear but also worn to work - I think this sweater could work over a pencil skirt for a de-bomshelling look.

I've paired the sweater with my darker wash Suko boot cuts and my grey leather Frye wedge boots. Because the sweater has both green and cream stripes in it, I'm wearing my snakeskin handbag which has green and cream in it as well. Jewelry consists of my grey/silver bangle and silver Haida wedding band.

Of course when I head out the door, I'll be adding my citron short puffer.

What do you think? How are the proportions? Can a shortie like me wear the oversized sweater trend? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Lord & Taylor
Jeans: Suko
Boots: Frye
Handbag: Elliott Lucca

LOVE this, Shannon. The colors are gorgeous. I think the slightly boxy fit is great especially since the sweater drapes so well. I could see it working with skinnies or a pencil!

Super sweater, Shannon! Wow - what fun. I love the colours. Obviously I need to make a trip to the Bay to do some shopping....

I think the sweater looks good on you. The dark jeans provide a long line that makes you look tall and lean (not short at all). The oversized sweater is a nice contrast to the jeans. The colors are great and seem like they would go with a lot of your wardrobe.

I love the colors! I may have to wear my oversized sweater today in homage. :-)

I have an ivory one I've been dying to wear but it's been so warm out lately.

I love the colours in the sweater. The white stripe makes all the other colours pop. This looks like a nice cosy sweater! I like it with the jeans and boots.

I love the colors!!!! I agree this sweater would look wonderful under a pair of skinnies. I myself would be so daring and wear it over white skinny jeans (but that's me). Enjoy your day off!

Well, you know I am totally Team Oversized Sweater, so I LOVE this look! Would like to see it with skinnies or a pencil skirt too. :-)

Glad you like my new sweater - will definitely be trying it with skinnies and pencil skirts as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Oh, I love this. You look completely fab! As usual, you did a great job echoing your colors across different aspects of your outfit. I can't wait to see this sweater matched with some other bottoms.
