Love the fresh floral with simple black blazer and black shoes, Shannon! Also, the green and pink accessories remind me of the 80s but in a good way :). Definitely summer-y!
I also like this shade of lipstick on you. I think it suits you really well and the shade is soft, yet bright, for summer. Keep wearing, IMO!

That is one gorgeous dress Shannon. Let's hope it last a good while longer. you've accessorised perfectly and I think the lipstick is lovely on you!

A beautiful polished and put together look on you! The new lipstick colour looks great (definately no age limit on lip colour) - it suits your colouring beautifully.
(Am jealous of your very polished looks) - wish I could pull them off.

Lovely and the lipstick color is very nice on you!

Shannon- The dress is beautiful on you and I like the structured black jacket over it, with the perfect pop of color in your bag. Your lipstick is pretty and your hair is stunning. YLF.

It is totally summery with the print, and the bright pink lip is awesome at any age. I really like how your hair is growing out too.

You look great! If I were you, I would keep my eye out for another floral dress with dark background. It really suits your style. Lipstick is perfect for summer.

Karie replied 10 years ago
Too much for someone your age??? Girlfriend, you look fantastic! The floral dress with the green handbag makes for another perfect Shannon outfit.
It's hard giving up those favorite clothing items, isn't it? Once when I found a favorite pair of pants, I went back to the store and bought a second pair exactly the same so I would have them when the first pair wore out. Now the second pair is wearing out, and I plan on taking them apart and making a sewing pattern out of them!

Joy replied 10 years ago
Certainly summery enough with the breezy floral print and colorful bag. Maybe Wonder Woman would be willing to make you another dress using this one as a pattern?
Of course the lipstick is not too bright on you. It looks perfect. FWIW, I'm finding, as I get older, that I need stronger color lipstick. What doesn't work is glossy, shiny stuff of any color.

I can see why the dress is a favorite, it looks so beautiful on you. The pop of green is a great accent and I love the lip color on you. It's bright without being the least bit garish.

Andrea - "polished" is in the eyes of the beholder don't you think? I love your outfits and I don't find them "un-polished" at all. It's just a different kind of polish :)
Eliza & Ceit - thanks for the compliments on my hair. This is the longest it's been in years! I'm enjoying the change.
JamC - I totally agree! It's the dark background on this dress that works for me and IMHO keeps it from looking too frumpy or twee - which I think floral patterns can be.
Karie - I'm going to have a heck of a time giving up this dress. It has been a wardrobe favorite since I got it over two years ago. The CPW must be down to nothing by now!
Joy - interesting that you're finding you need a somewhat brighter lipstick. I'm finding the same thing although I've always worn strong lip color. I've tried a nude shade and just looked horrendous in it. And yes, definitely no shiny gloss!
Thanks for the dress and lip color love ladies :)
And thanks lyn* for letting us know about the Chubby Sticks :)

What a cheery dress! The bangle and the bag are great touches, too. You have great variety in your wardrobe, but you also know how to wear things regularly and fully enjoy them.
Lippy is not too bright. I'm liking a creamy, soft color, but find it hard to keep on throughout the day. No more mattes (aging) or flat out gloss for me!

shedev replied 10 years ago
I like the dress. It will be a bummer when it does fall apart. Love that shade of lippy on you.

I love this outfit, Shannon! This is one of my favorites that I've seen on you.
-
Cindy replied 10 years ago
You look great in that outfit! I am going to disagree and say that, while I do like the black, I think it would look more summery if the jacket and shoes picked up color from the dress. And that lip color looks good!

Love the outfit and the lippy! Very pretty for summer. I hear you on the dress wear and tear... my agate print dress is showing its age, too.

The dress looks great on you! I think this outfit is seasonless - it's appropriate for both summer and cooler temps. I agree with others that the lipstick looks good and I wouldn't worry about whether it works for your age.

Your new chubby stick is great! Love this outfit, it's sharp. I esp. like that you paired it with a green bag - very lively and fresh.

Everything is gorgeous! That is one fantastic dress and I can see why you love it so much. Better start scoping replacements! I just love the color combinations, the pink green and black together is so pretty! Love the lip color, not too much at all. gonna check it out for me.

Shannon, that dress looks great any way you style it. It looks like "Summer in the City" with the black blazer and I love how the pink bangle and green bag further Summer-ize it. Now hear this: That lippy is INCREDIBLE on you. It's not too much, and it brightens your complexion beautifully. I don't know about you, but that's what I want from my make-up!

Can you just box up the whole outfit and send it to me. I probably won't be able to fit into it because you look so slim and trim and I've been drinking far too many iced mochas with biscotti. This is absolutely fabulous. I love the purse the print and the bangle. Nothing more for me to add so I'll just stop now.

I think you look summertime fresh. The colorful accessories and gorgeous lip color make the floral pop and lighten up the black.

This is by far the best outfit I've seen you in, Shannon! I love the floral dress with the jacket! It has a slight retro bombshell feel but the accessories (the bangle and the shoes) give it a bit of an edge! You look amazing!

Late to the races here - ARE CHUBBY STICKS NOT FANTASTIC? Revlon has a knock off one too, which is pretty good, but not as moisturizing. I find the Revlon one sticks on longer, though!!! :) And at $7, tons of colours to experiment with!
AND THAT FLORAL FROCK IS AMAZING.
I want to quote MaryK too: PLONK.

Mo replied 10 years ago
Yep - hit and a hit. I'm all about a lipstick that feels great . . . must investigate lol.

These colors are perfect on you! I am a fan of the Chubby sticks too! They are soft and go on silky and you don't have to worry about that lipstick line. The pink is positively perfect!

Late here but wanted to add another yay vote for the lipstick! You look great.
-
Parsley replied 10 years ago
That is a fabulous dress on you, so I hope it lasts a while longer.
Love the lipstick, too! I'm a hug fan of Chubby Sticks- they're my go to everyday lip color.
And ahem, "at your age?" AT YOUR AGE??? You're still a mere child! Of course you can wear that color. I plan to wear whatever colors I like until I'm 90++!
-
Lisa replied 10 years ago
That lipcolor is gorgeous on you, and it really brightens your face. Nice choice! Pretty floral frock, the good thing about wearing out an item is a) it earned it's spot in your wardrobe and b) you get to shop for a fun new frock!

Aziraphale replied 10 years ago
It IS a great dress. Well, if you wear it until it wears out, then it has done its job! That's actually my goal with my favourite clothes. If I love it to death and it actually wears out before I'm tired of it, it means I got my money's worth. (Still sad when it finally bites the dust, though...).
Lipstick is fab on you. A bold lip is good at any age, if it's the right colour.
And yes, the outfit still looks summery, even with a black jacket.

If my happiness rating of your outfit is a 10 out of 10, I can only imagine how good you must feel wearing it. Dynamite!
Love the lipcolor. Those chubbystick gloss pencils are nice. I read somewhere that as we age, our natural lipcolor fades a bit so it makes sense that a stronger color is flattering (and not as strong as it might have been...not that you are aging...oh hopefully you understand where I am going...).
If it works, rock it!
