WIW: Not Picasso

I wasn't on the forum the last couple of days so missed the start of the Picasso challenge (brilliant Angie!). So unfortunately today's outfit is not a Picasso interpretation. Hope y'all can forgive me - lol! I also had to take the pic quick in the boss' office as my camera was acting up this morning and I was running late and it's been CRAZY today.

The outfit started with my simple black pencil skirt and black knit tank. Nude microfishets are a nod to spring. I then added my Docs for comfy footwear - plus I adore the juxtaposition of clompy boots with a skirt or dress. I then topped everything off with this fab little Levi jean jacket I thrifted on the weekend. I already have a light denim/leather sleeved jacket but the "regular" denim jacket I had was too cropped - not into the super short style as much now so was on the hunt for something a little longer. This genuine Levi jacket appeared for $4.99 and I swooped in and grabbed it.

My citron handbag provides a lovely bright color to counteract the fairly dark outfit and then I added a vintage brooch of my grandmother's on the front of the jacket for a bit of sparkle and whimsy.

So what say you oh wise ones...does this all work together? Proportions ok? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Levi (thrifted)
Tank: Sears
Skirt: Cleo Petite
Boots: Doc Martens
Hose: Hue
Handbag: Sergio Ferretti

looks great to me!  I really like darker denim, black and a bright warm color pop with bare legs, just seems to work well.

    FABULOUS, with or without Picasso.

You know I love this formula on you, Shannon.

Great new jacket!  I like the addition of the brooch.  I should try something like that.  My son gave me a brooch for Christmas and I haven't figured out how to wear it yet.

The jacket is a great find and is a classic for a good reason. The outfit works wonderfully, I think rabbit listed the elements really well. The legs, citron and sparkly brooch really brighten up the mood!

A Picasso copy or not, you are colorful and creative. This reminds me of the portrait framed in yellow behind the reading lady. :)

Luv a good thrift find!! That jean jacket is a classic that will go the distance. I like the nod to spring with the hose, bag, and pin. Nicely styled!

Super cute outfit, Shannon. I love the pencil skirt and boots on you. It's so spunky. I can just imagine the scenario: you tell boss she's needed down the hall, and then you rush to set up the camera and take your pics before she comes back. Ha haha!

I find it Picasso wothy for day 2 of the challenge! (girl with a book)& I always loved the "chunky shoes with pencil" look on you!

Angie - I think regardless of where my styles goes, this will always be my favorite formula. I always feel like ME in it.

Sara - definitely give the brooch a try. It was quite interesting how many people at work commented on the brooch in particular.

Sharan - luckily my boss was in a meeting for two hours in the afternoon off site so I was able to sneak in there. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be to get caught taking your outfit pic???

I'm really happy with this jean jacket - it's a less trendy shape but with more longevity IMHO. Thanks for the outfit love ladies :)
