WIW: New-ish jeans

There's a funny and fab story behind these jeans - when Angie had first posted about the Canyon River Blues slouchy skinny jeans several months ago, I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered 3 sizes - I ended up with my then regular size fitting and one size very, very slouchy. The smaller size didn't do up and I ended up throwing them into a spare closet and promptly forgot about them. The two other sizes have since been purged as they just got too sloppy on me. While doing my shoe purging and cleaning last night, I found the smallest size and thought I may as well try them on - well, they fit perfectly!

So here's a pair of skinny slouchy jeans for Denim Day, paired with my silky graphic tee in blues and whites. To bring more pops of white into the outfit (I have fallen CRAZY in love with white) I'm using my light cream handbag and wearing my white watch. I would have worn my new cream perforated oxfords but it's supposed to rain today and I don't want them to get wet so am instead wearing my python booties.

So what do you think? does it all work? as always all comments/suggestions welcome.

Tee: Laura Petite
Jeans: Canyon River Blues Curvy Skinny
Boots: Sam Edelman
Handbag: Danier Leather
Watch: thrifted

Shannon, 'way to go! What a happy way to end the week. Like the fit of the jeans on you, and the booties pick up some of the grey in the T.

Move over, I'm on the white bandwagon too!

Ooh, nice fitting jeans. An unexpected closet find is always a great.
The top will look great with white too when the heat of the summer is upon us.

You do look fab and congrats on the "new" jeans! The white bag should be sent to me pronto though.

Woohooo!! Good thing you kept that smallest size, Shannon. It fits perfectly and does not look sloppy at all. I adore blue matched with white - snap! I'm wearing blue and white with you today. We are samies :)

You look casual, fresh, a little sporty and of course - stylish! Good job.

Thank you everyone - I'm so in love with these "new" jeans that I promptly went to the Canyon River section of Sears.com and order a pair of white higher waisted skinny jeans and a pair of darker wash dressier skinny jeans. I like that their version of skinny is not skin tight, but just a slim fit on me. At $18 per pair, the order is definitely worth the risk.

Putting these on last night was yet another "aha" moment for me. My version of a slim fitting jean does not have to be someone else's because my body isn't like anyone else's - we are all individuals. For example, I adore Rae's TR white jeans but they won't look as smashing on me as they do on her because we are not built alike - but maybe the Canyon River skinnies will be my version of the same look - does that make sense?

I love the tee with those jeans and booties.  Yay for new jeans (that you didn't even have to shop for)!

How cool is that, Queen Fit & Fab!
Those look great on you, and you are an inspiration to me to keep plugging away with the exercise and healthy eating.

WOOT!  Shannon, you look fantastic! Yay for you! It is so nice to pull out a surprise "win" like that, isn't it? There's something different about it than when you know you are making slow progress toward something and ultimately accomplish it. The surprise win just carries extra excitement and winniness!  Love your outfit combo with these and love it best of all with the purse.  Totally fab!

Congratulations on the continued weight loss. I know it's not easy. They look perfect for denim day.

Love the jeans on you and what value.  When it dries up the oxfords will look smashing and change it up a little.
  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago
    Nice:) Love the tee.
  • Sveta replied 10 years ago
The jeans fit you really nicely now - how lucky that you did keep them?
I also like this tee even if I am not a tee person at all. Actually I am amazed how you are able to find gems in The Bay, Sears, Laura and Cleo - every time I go there nothing calls to me but all you finds are fantastic!
Maybe we nee to go shopping together...:-)

The blouse really takes it up a notch! I love the jeans paired with the SE booties. This is a fashionable, sophisticated take on jeans and a tee. Fabulous!

These are so fab on you! And what an amazing score to get some others. There is nothing nicer than finding out you fit into a pair of pants you couldn't wear a few months earlier! You go, girl!!!!!
  • Marley replied 10 years ago
