WIW: Metallic Gold for the Cold

Yep - still cold today but on the warming trend. The weather man is actually talking temperatures on the plus side by the end of next week. Let's hope he's right!

Today I have a lot of running around to do at work today so comfort was key. I started with my espresso brown trousers and brown booties for a reasonably long leg line (well...as long as MY leg line can get - lol!). I topped that with my metallic gold Esprit sweater. This sweater is incredibly comfortable and extremely soft, which surprised me being a metallic knit. I thought it would be scratchy or stiffer. Such a pleasant surprise. I've added my snakeskin satchel for my handbag and one simple ring for jewelry.

I don't think the sweater untucked is the most figure flattering for me but for some reason, didn't feel like wearing a belt and doing a semi tuck. I hope it doesn't look too bad? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Esprit
Trousers: Esprit
Boots: Naturalizer
Handbag: Elliott Lucca

P.S. Gain says "good morning"!

Untucked looked just fine. I really like the combo of your gold sweater with the bag. Good morning to Gain too.

I think it looks fine untucked also! I love that sweater on you.

I don't recall seeing that sweater before.  It's very glam:). I like it untucked Shannon.  I think untucked creates a glamorous elegance, whereas a semi tuck creates a more trendy vibe.  The colour is so luxurious and the silhouette simple and lovely.

Ohhhh, chocolate and gold looks so yummy!  Your legs look miles long in this too!

So nice - and with that gorgeous bag....

Untucked does not look unflattering to me at all. I really like the metallic gold on you and to I don't really see things in terms of figure flattering as much as just flattering if that makes sense. In other words, you look terrific!

I notice you choosing pops of color and textural interest for outfits that have a high comfort factor.  At the end of winter, I want to snuggle up even more and find myself reaching for color just to avoid the full "hibernate until the fall" temptation!  A cozy metallic is a terrific way to be comfy, but fab, and your bags  make for an even stronger impact.

The sweater has a nice line when left untucked.  I think it looks good without a belt even if it's maybe not the most flattering silhouette (which isn't to say it doesn't look good).  I had wondered if the sweater was scratchy at all - what luck to find a metallic sweater that's so comfortable.

What a lovely sweater! I like it untucked and the accessories work well with it.
Fab :) and hello to Gains too.

That gold, chocolate and snakeskin combo is so luscious! You look fab as always and your legs are a mile long!

MMM... loving the gold paired with brown! IDK if I would have thought of it. Totally filing this away for autumn.

    Modern Retro Elegance :)

You look lovely, Shannon, I really like the way your EL bag works with it.  Thank you for the ^_^ photo, which made me smile and also your fab feline has the same gold and print as your metallic top and purse.  Yeah, it's a bit of stretch, but cats go with EVERYTHING IMHO!

I haven't commented on this sweater before, but it's beautiful on you, Shannon. And the colour combination with the espresso brown trousers is so rich here, love it. It looks great untucked and I love your animal print bag with this outfit. Hi sweet Gain!-)

Gorgeous and glamorous, one of my favorite tops of yours for sure! I think leaving it untucked gives it a luxurious air. You have an "I can afford the looseness, but I'm no slouch" thing going :)

    (hello pretty kitty! *rubs belly*)

You look terrific. The gold is so pretty on you, and I would have never thought to pair it with snakeskin.  Just fab!

The bag and the sweater!  Genius!

I think it looks great! I hear you on metallic items often being scratchy, it is often the case - you were lucky to find a comfortable one.

SHINY!!  I like it!  Especially with "our" fab bag!!

Love the metaliic sweater, it surprised me since I didn't think it would be your color.  And kitty, so much love from kitty!

The untuck is flattering and nice to see for a change.  It's a good length on you and the sweater fits you very well.  It just skims the body, not oversized not bodycon either.

I was thinking, where are the accessories and then I saw the bag.  Says outfit to bag: "you complete me!"

(I think Gain kitty feels the same way.  About the bag.)
