WIW: Inspired by Diana

I've been inspired by Diana's outfits where she's wearing colour combinations with that beautiful bright Kelly green. That was jumping off point this morning with my green flowy tee. I've paired the tee with my lightweight black trousers, my black Clarks sandals, and topped it with my new (and free!) white denim jacket. Plus it's quite cold and miserable today so a jacket is an absolute must. I've added Kelly (my green handbag) and my oversized watch.

How is this colour combination for me? What about the proportions? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: BUM Equipment (free)
Tee: Cleo Petites
Trousers: Gap
Sandals: Clarks
Handbag: Cleo (thrifted)
Watch: thrifted

Super cute, Shannon! I like that the trousers bookend your hair. The effect is more noticeable with the white and bright top. Makes me realize why black trousers DON'T work so well for me unless I also have other black elements up top!

Great outfit! Not sure about green with teal though! How about your orange or color block bag?

I like the outfit. Great use of the dark and light plus a splash of green. I think the top is green also, right?? just a different tone?

    Same as Suz said, here!
(inclusive the remark about black trousers not working so well for me(blone):-((....

I love the white, black and teal combo, especially with your coloring. I would have loved to see this with your leopard bag instead of Kelly. I Agree wit Rita. I am not sure if I like the green and teal together. They are quite close to go for matchy matchy, yet, the subtle color difference makes it look as if it was an unsuccessful matching attempt. I'm nitpicking though. No one would notice that, but me!

I really like this. The denim jacket looks fantastic on you. If it was me I would have to add a long pendant (but that's just me). I like the two shades of green together. This look is very easy on the eye, it kind of gives off a relaxed and serene vibe.

I don't know why the top and bag look different in the photo - they are actually EXACTLY the same colour of green! Anyway...the animal print bag would have looked better anyway Zap - I was just too lazy to change my handbag!

Very cute Shannon. The only reservation I had was the different but close greens but I thought it might just be me. When I did the color test, it was blue/green that I was off on. The shirt looks almost teal to me and the bag a warmer green.

I like the white jacket with this outfit. Interesting because I thought it looked an inch or two too long in the original thread about it and with this outfit it looks just right.

Ooh, very nice, Shannon! I am flattered to have inspired you. =)

And FWIW, I like the non-matchy greens, even though I know it's just a trick of the camera.

    Ha that's crazy Shannon.
    I see no issue then.

I love this color combo. You look great!

That green looks so fresh with the white! And Suz said it perfectly. Aren't you lucky you can wear black trousers so easily!

Dianthus - never underestimate the power of shrinking! I deliberately washed the denim jacket in warm water and tossed it in the dryer to shrink it a bit - it's actually a full inch and a half shorter now!

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 11 years ago

Thanks for letting me know. Do you like it better at this length? It just seems to hit closer to your narrow waist and emphasize the curves more to my eye.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Fun and fresh! You and Diana rock white denim jackets with the best of them.

Thanks for smiling your fab smile, Shannon. I always feel that I am greeted with a warm hug when I see your outfit. Lovely :)

Dianthus - I definitely like this length better. Plus it also fits in the shoulders a wee bit better. I was going to get the AE white denim jacket but now I think this one will work perfectly.

Angie - do you think the length of this jacket will work with skirts and dresses, or do I need one more cropped?

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    It's going to work!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Whoo hoo! Let's hear it for "controlled shrinking"!!!

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

Beautiful outfit! I would love the purse with the top if they were different colors, or the same color :). Can't go wrong, in my book.

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

Love it! I think I will copy that with black jeans today :)

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Yay, love how springy the emerald looks with the white jacket! I am so antsy to get my mitts on my own white jacket! I like the green bag, but the leopard one is a fab idea for next time.

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Vibrant and fun! And I don't think you'd want the jacket nay more cropped.

  • replied 11 years ago

Yay! I love this, and I love that Kelly has a name (and that she matches your top exactly IRL). For some reason I have no problems with blues and turquoises not matching but Rosey has been giving me fits. She is so close in color to the pinks I *would* wear her with but no cigar. I have some navy and white dye coming in the mail. She will soon be a color blocked bag!

I'm glad your controlled shrinkage experiment worked! Your jacket looks fab--and so do you! :)

Shannon, you look positively radiant in this picture! I don't know what does it - all these beautiful greens or your fab new white jacket but I LOVE this outfit.

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

You are so cute! I love that bag.

  • goldenpig replied 11 years ago

Love your radiant smile! That white denim jacket looks perfectly shrunken, how awesome that it just fell in your lap! Pretty green bag!
