WIW: Inspired by Angie (ETA pic added for Angie)

I'm ALWAYS inspired by Angie...but yesterday's outfit really captured me with it's structure, soft colour palette and attention to details. I wanted to try and find a way to copy that feeling without having the exact same items.

I started with my W&W skinnies and then added my lighter denim coloured chambray shirt. From there, I topped it with my Calvin Klein animal print blazer (one of my all time favourite purchases) and bookended the blazer with my oh-so-comfy animal print Doc Danielle's. I added Kelly (my green handbag) for a pop of colour and my oversized gold watch for jewelry. I fully buttoned my chambray shirt and popped the collar a la Angie to further give the outfit that structure and crispness. I feel comfortable and if I may be so bold to say - rather fab! Thank you for the inspiration Angie!

Does this outfit work for me? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer: Calvin Klein
Chambray shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Wit & Wisdom
Shoes: Doc Martens (Danielle's)
Watch: thrifted
Handbag: Cleo (thrifted)

ETA: Angie - I took your advice and hid the cuff of the shirt so that the sleeves of the blazer show on their own. You're right (AGAIN!) - definitely better! Thanks for the tip.

Fantastic outfit, and I love the pop of green from your purse. The only thing that gave me pause was the mixing of two animal prints.

Well you were inspired by the Master so how can this not be fab:). Looks great! Such a dressy/casual look. I love the matchy vibe between the jacket and shoes and then the randomness of the bag and addition of color. Love it.

You look great, and I love the shoes, as well as that bag!

Great outfit Shannon! I love the contrast between the casualness of the chambray shirt and the dressy jacket. I also like the print mixing!

I think that this is terrific, Shannon. I would probably go with a non-animal print shoe, myself, but that's just me. Hmmm...sure makes me wish I had a print blazer!

Awesome outfit!! It's kind of a lot of animal print in one outfit for me but I think it works.

I love this on you. One of my favorite TS looks ever! And you captured the crispness and attention to detail fabulously.

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

    Purrrrrrrrfect. Works for you. Meow!

I'm a big fan of your stylings TS, but this may be a touch too much animal print with the shoes. How about this option? Will the pants work with these FAB sandals?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Tee hee...I knew the double animal print would get reactions (lol)!

AJ - definitely those sandals would work, or even my Pura Lopez brown suede sandal booties for another option.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Inspired by Angie, but given an entirely Shannon spin. Very nice!

  • replied 11 years ago

Once you changed the shoes to the non-animal print .... a knock-out! You look great.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Well, I am a matchy-matchy girl at heart, I guess. Because I LOVE the double animal print! Though I agree it would also look great with those brown suede sandal booties.

    So clever, Shannon!

I seem to be an outlier, but I like the double animal print! Great outfit!

  • sarah replied 11 years ago

Just had to chime in to chuckle at AJ's paper doll suggestion.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Yep - in Shannon's world, a little over the top animal print = happiness!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

I am humbled to be of any inspiration at all. Thanks :)

I love this outfit more *with* the animal print shoes by about a billion percent. I'm pinning it.

Shannon, if you feel like it, try taking away the fold over of the shirt cuff on the jacket sleeves, and allow your jacket pattern to do the talking. The outfit effect will be more minimal, crisp and modern that way. Just my 2 cents!

Cool! Love the matchy matchy leopard jacket and shoes and green bag!

I love how animal print looks so great with everything! This is a fab outfit and the emerald bag is so much fun. I'm glad to see your new Docs are getting some play, too! For the record, Angie's outfit inspired me so much that I went out and thrifted a bunch of items in that color palette without even realizing what I was doing until I got them all on, lol!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Squee! Gosh, that bag slays me. And I could see Angie slip *right* into #3. Love love love the double animal print. Pattern matching is the new pattern mixing!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Wow, Claire. That's so sweet! Those greys and blues look amazing with your hair and eyes :)

Shannon, I like the unfolded sleeve version much better. More modern. Do you see that too, or is it just me?

I like the sandals with the outfit (more classic in the true sense - not modern), but believe they take away from the crisp and modern look. Your Docs on the other hand know what you are talking about.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

I totally see it Angie - when I looked at the new pic, I actually said "ah ha"! It's less cluttered. And the Docs to me give me my urban part of my rubric.

Shannon, you look so cute and spunky in that third photo! Your hair is looking especailly fab today. You are SUCH a good student, obediently unrolling your sleeves like that. No wonder you're at the head of the Fashion Class!

@Angie, how can we help but be inspired? You are sweet to be flattered by all of our copying (instead of being put-off by it)! :)

  • Classically Casual replied 11 years ago

I too love the double dose of leopard. Very, very fun outfit.

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

You are turning into a style chameleon like MaryK!

  • kellygirl replied 11 years ago

So cute, TS! Spunky is right! You look fab!

  • marianna replied 11 years ago

Very cool! I also like the double animal print.

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

HUGE like! The shirt under blazer with skinnies is just so awesome. But like in Angie's outift, it's the details that take it up a hundred notches. Animal print x2, great bag and bold watch are just perfect touches.

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

Shanon, you look fantastic and you KNOW you've inspired me in the past, so I LOVE seeing your Angie-inspired outfits for the same reason, because of the inspired variations. Love the jacket styling in 3 as it delivers best that way.

  • Kiwichik replied 11 years ago

I am coveting all the leopard not to mention the green bag.
