WIW: Graphic print & purple blazer

I have a Board meeting today so wanted to look professional but not stuffy. Plus I wanted to wear my new purple blazer (the sister to my red blazer).

Today's outfit started with my graphic black and cream ponte pencil midi skirt. At the moment, this is my favourite skirt in my wardrobe. I love the graphic print, the fit and the comfort.

I added a black knit tank and then topped that with my new purple blazer. I have the purple Halogen Amber Sun jacket in purple (waving to jacket twin MsMary) but I'm not feeling the shape these days. It is downstairs in my holding zone for now. But I did know I wanted a purple jacket so when the sister jacket to my red blazer became available at deep discount, I quickly snapped it up. Just like the red blazer has a houndstooth lining, the purple blazer also has a funky lining. I love rolling the sleeves to show that little bit of extra pattern.

Semi opaque black tights, black patent booties and my black/cream handbag, along with purple/clear specs, finish off the outfit.

Oh yeah…and my hair is tucked behind my ears and you know, I'm not hating it today :)

So what are your thoughts on this outfit? Any tweaks or suggestions? As always, all comments welcome.

Blazer & skirt: Cleo Petite
Tank: Sears
Tights: Hue
Booties: Ara
Handbag: Danier Leather (thrifted)

Love a fancy lining! Can you scrunch the cuffed sleeves a bit? Love the purple on you!

You look professional with a touch of fun in the rolled sleeves and print lining. I always admire that handbag. It works well with your skirt.

Super funky jacket- and good  look for a board meeting. Nice to find duplicates of something that works, isn't it?  Guaranteed your hair will look fantastic the day you go to get it cut.  (which I know isn't today, but this brought to mind that rule :)  )

Shevia - sleeves have been scrunched! Much better - thank you :)

Joy - I've had this handbag now for ages - it was such a lucky thrift find.

Lisa - I don't usually buy duplicates actually but I knew this classic style of blazer and the soft ponte knit paired with the funky lining, was a good piece to double up on. Both will get no shortage of wear. And isn't THAT the truth about your hair always looking great the day you go to get it cut!

You look great! Professional, yet approachable. I love the wee bit of pattern mixing with the peek of lining of the blazer. I'm glad you duplicated the red one bc this is fab. Hope your day goes well.

I'm a purple fiend -- so you know I'm going to like this!  I'm glad you've already scrunched the sleeves -- something about the roll back looked a bit too "planned"  the scrunch is more insouciant (I just wanted to use the word insouciant).  That skirt was quite a find.  The scale of the pattern is perfectly bold and fun, while still working for the office.

Oh... so... good! Almost enough to make me become a handbag lady.
You are a genious at interesting outfit creation. I liked your post on your wardrobe review because I agree (!)--you use your items in different ways, even when you had a larger wardrobe, mixing up colors and patterns and accessories. My goal.

Oh, Shannon, you and Mary just rock the purple! I love this and love your closet post too - an enviable place to be.

This lace jacket reminded me of yours...
