WIW: for the Board

It's the last meeting of the Board of Directors at work today before their summer hiatus so decided to go "full suit". Pastel blue suit that is.

I've paired the suit with my black and white drapey tee and my black low heeled sandals to take some of the sweetness out of the pastel blue colour. I then added my citron clutch for a pop of unexpected colour. Black and white specs and silver watch/bangle/wedding ring finish off the outfit.

Does this work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome. This is probably the last wearing of this suit for a while as the heat has hit now.

I'm experimenting with a new camera app on my phone so you'll have to bear with me as I figure it out :)

Suit: Anne Klein
Tee: Smart Set
Sandals: Clark's
Clutch: Gap

Dusty Bottom thinks getting up this early is just silly.

I really like how you matched the blue with black to offset the colour. Looking good.

That suit is such a great workhorse for your functions! Love the graphic black  tee and yellow clutch with it!YLF and proffesional, Shannon! Oh, and nr 4 is way tooooo cute, it made my day:-))

(I suggest taking picties a bit closer, these seem a bit taken to far away!)

I love this! The tee looks so fab with the suit, and you succeeded in de-sugaring the pale blue with the black. Perfection.

    Fantastic outfit! Very professional.

I love Dusty Bottom....I had a cat just like that not long ago :)

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Shannon I love this. I think you have added just the right touch if edge to the suit. The overall look is really interesting and not at all "expected". Brilliant! And your phone photos look good. Nice and clear.

It is 80s in the best possible way, Shannon. So fresh and pretty.

Love the blue with black to reduce the sweetness too - you nailed this look!

Your choice of t is brilliant with this suit. You are all set up for the board meeting.

Your top bookends Dusty Bottom! I love the black with the pastel blue and the pop of yellow is inspired!

I am really enjoying the top with the suit and how a bit of black is working for you here. Both professional and fresh. Happy board meeting.

Are the buttons on your suit just dark or black?  Either way it looks great to tie in the bits of black in your outfit!  Your kitty is adorable!

Stunning!  I love the relaxed approach to fit and styling, along with the fresh and sophisticated pastel in the suit.  Go get 'em, today; you look ready for anything.

  • Astrid replied 9 years ago

Love this! Very stylish and professional. The amount of black is just right to look harmonious with the pastel and the pop of citron is fantastic.

  • Susie replied 9 years ago

I think the graphic tee is definitely unexpected with the blue suit and I really like that. The suit looks gray in the first photo...is it a true pastel blue?

  • Thistle replied 9 years ago

Dusty Bottom is such a cutey!! Not a morning kitty though :)

You look perfect for the last Board meeting. I especially like the sassy pop of citron with the bag.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

Omg ... Dusty Bottom is sooooooo cute! I want to cuddle him!

Oh your outfit looks brilliant :D. I am loving pale blue of late. A color I thought I could never wear :). Citron and pale blue where made for each other.

lyn - I'll definitely try to get the pictures closer tomorrow. I'll probably end up being too close and cut off my head - lol!

Deborah - glad that the pictures look clear. I do think the phone app gives a better representation of the correct light as opposed to my camera.

NDMom - the buttons on the suit jacket are a charcoal grey with flecks of black.

Susie - yep, the suit truly is pastel blue. My wall color tends to throw off the color of this suit for some reason.

Thistle - Dusty Bottom just wanted me to stay home and rub his back and tummy all day. I must admit...it was tempting!

Thanks for the assurance that the tee went with the suit. I do like the unexpected combination.

And Dusty says thanks for the love :)

    Killer

And I'm loving the daily pics of Darling Dusty. xo

Don't know if it is the new camera or the column of colour, but you look tall! The grey in the top is of a similar tonal value to the blue, so the black and white isn't blocky, and it is nicely framed by the suit. I like the open toed shoes a lot. Feminine but edgy....very nice job of juxtaposition.

Love this on you! Well done.

  • Debora replied 9 years ago

Professional, polished and so lovely. What a contented kitty!

  • Peri replied 9 years ago

Oh, I was hoping that top wouldn't make the cut for the new wardrobe and you would put it up for the sale section! Or just send it to me!

    ;) ;) ;)

    Just kidding, you look great!

  • kellygirl replied 9 years ago

Whoa! The pastel suit is so fab on you. Love the pairing with black. Give kitty a belly rub for me please!

  • Gigi replied 9 years ago

This SO works! I love the drapey tee under the jacket. It adds so much interest and keeps the outfit from getting into the professional-equals-boring rut.

I know that the pastel suit was a bit of a wild card for you. How are you finding it? Is it becoming a favorite?

Cute kitty...I like to sleep in too. :)

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Great to see The Suit in action...

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 9 years ago

I love the modern addition of the graphic t-shirt and the pop of color in the clutch... love the pics of Dusty...

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

The blue reads as a grayed pastel to me, and I think that's why I like it so much with the tee in shades of black and white. What a gorgeous chic and professional look. Dusty even coordinates with the outfit, and what an adorable pose.

  • goldenpig replied 9 years ago

How fun to have the pop of citron with the pastel blue suit. More 80's love from me! Great sandals too. Dusty is so adorable!

  • T replied 9 years ago

On my screen the blue of the suit blends beautifully with the greyish - white of the tee - both soft, silvery shades. You look very put together and fab!
