WIW: Fluid Fit

I'm clapping my hands this morning because my all time favourite work trousers fit again!!!

I started today's outfit with my espresso chocolate Esprit wide legged trousers. I was so sad when Esprit closed down in North America because these are MY perfect trousers with perfect fit. And the drape is sublime.

Paired with these trousers is my bright pink pullover. It has a bottom welt which allows me to add an Angie faux tuck over top of my animal print belt. I really like pairing pink with brown - makes me think of Neopolitan ice cream.

For footwear i went with my ancient brown leather booties and then added an unexpected pop of red with my red and animal print clutch. Yes, that's two animal prints in one outfit - I'm living on the edge baby!

Jewelry is my rose gold/black watch and gold wedding band. And then to top it all off when I head out the door, I've added my dark brown faux fur vest.

So does this all work together? Am I illustrating Angie's fluid fit formula properly? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Sears

    Oh, cute with the vest!

If you had white in there you'd be Neapolitan ice cream :)

    You look great, Shannon.

    Mmmm...delicious :)

TS, I just love your style sense and your use of colour makes me happy when I look at your pictures. You use clothes to communicate who you are and to accent your beauty in every combination you put together. But, you have to let me hijack this post in order to let me congratulate you on how great you are looking overall! Congrats on being able to play with your favourite pants (and for not tossing them when you couldn't).

Shannon- the outfit has some unexpected touches and looks fab. The fun part for me is how happy you sound describing your process- that's what it's all about!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Fabulous! What a great outfit, and a wonderful description of how it came about!

Fab with a capital fab!  I love Jeanne Bekker.  I like the pink with the tomato red in your clutch.  Edgy indeed.  Congrats on the pants fit - I know how great that can feel!

I also am a big fan of the pink with the red. Such a happy outfit, matched only by your big smile. So pretty!

Awesome! I, too, loved Esprit! And it does seem that Sears is evolving a bit these days.....hey, fashion is where you find it!

You look utterly amazing!  Love the combo (and have a similar pair of pants - maybe I should try them again soon), and love that you fit back into your "skinny" trousers!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Sweater Sears? You are a marvel. Of course I love this demonstration of why bright pink is so great with "our" hair color. A+ for fluidity!

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

You are a vision in pink, Shannon! I love how you put this together. The proportion and silhouette is just perfect on you. Fab!

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

Your delight in this shines through and is the best accessory you could add to this pretty outfit. I always have admired your style no matter what size you wore, but totally get the glee you're feeling over fitting into your smaller britches. Congrats!

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

    Lovely, right, and happy. YLF!

You look great!  And how fabulous that your favorite pants fit again!  I like the pink and brown together and the fur vest is fun and cozy-looking.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Congratulations on getting back into your favorite trousers. And the lovely strawberry pink color! Yum!

  • Peri replied 10 years ago

I love this, especially with the vest. Very cool dose of bright under a column of dark!

  • Vickie KY replied 10 years ago

Yeah - I am clapping my hands as well. Nothing makes you feel better than to get back into formally tight pants. I love the pink and brown as well. The vest is a great touch for when you are cool. Vickie

    Happy outfit! Love the trousers.

Runcarla - thank you sooooooo much! What sweet things to say.

Nicole - I am fast becoming a fan of Jeanne Bekker's clothes.

Shevia - yep, Sears. That's also where I got my animal print pencil skirt. I'm actually kind of impressed with them this fall.

We obviously have some pink and chocolate combo lovers here :) And I'm so glad I found this vest this last. Much better than the gorilla one, remember? - lol!

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments and for popping by.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

I am wearing a pullover that colour right now. High five. xo

How fun that you're wearing pink today too. I love this outfit - an 11 out of 10 - and the way the red clashes with the pink in the most delightful way. Thanks for your wonderful blog post comment today.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Angie - pink used to be my favourite colour to wear in my late teens and early 20's and then I just got away from it (somehow thought it was immature I think). Now I have fallen in love with it all over again! High five right back at ya! And you gotta know I would NEVER have paired pink and red pre YLF :)

And you are most welcome. xoxo

  • K. Period. replied 10 years ago

Gah! I love red and pink together. Lovely! This is really fun and energetic and lovely on you Shannon.

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

I know I'm late to post on this one but I really love it and wanted to say how great this pink is on you - and those trousers - PEFECT! I love how you mixed in that clutch and your vest too. Really fantastic all the way around.

  • KikiG replied 10 years ago

Let's celebrate getting back into those fab pants! I love that feeling.

You really glow in that wonderful pink, and I love how it fits and flatters your shoulders. You really have achieved both style and figure flattery today! Great job!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

That's nice to hear, Shannon. Pink gets a bad wrap and I constantly seem to be defending it. It's just another pretty colour - nothing more or less than that. xo
