WIW: Floral Moto with cobalt

When I got the Club Monaco floral moto, I knew I wanted to try pairing it with cobalt. Then the same week I found this fabulous knit cobalt pencil skirt at Cleo Petite. I already had the cobalt sleeveless knit - I couldn't believe how perfectly it went with the skirt. Like a summer knit suit almost.

So today's outfit started with the cobalt pencil skirt and sleeveless top. On top of that, I added the floral moto and scrunched the sleeves. For footwear, I went neutral with my peep toe laceless oxfords. And my handbag is my white clutch. Jewelry is simple with my silver wedding band and a silver ring on the other hand.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this outfit - happiness scale is waaaaaaaaaaay up there!

What do you think? Does it work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Club Monaco
Top: Jones New York (thrifted)
Skirt: Cleo Petite
Shoes: Boutique 9
Clutch: Danier Leather

P.S. The last shot is to show you two things - 1) how perfectly the top and skirt work together and 2) I think I found my waist again!

Happiness scale deservedly in the stratosphere.

Deserved happiness!! You look wonderful. I have been having fun with my cobalt tube skirt, too, pairing it with Ts and sweaters to make a fake "dress". And adding a fun topper.

Well, of course your happiness scale is waaaaaaaaaaay up there (to quote you) because your style is waaaaaaaaaaay up there. AND, this does show off your tiny waist. Just lovely :)

You had me at cobalt, Shannon.  I love the way you've paired mixed neutrals with the bright.  Very chic and flattering.  The jacket purchase was a great one!

I love it! The color combo is beyond awesome.

I love this outfit. I have a similar Nordstrom jacket that I couldn't figure out what to wear with so your outfit definitely gives me some idea.

  • annaj replied 10 years ago

Love it!! What a great combination!

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Spectacular!! At first, I thought you had a new cobalt sheathe - but this is even better since you can break up the pieces. Fab fab fab with the jacket!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Oh thank you all so much for your sweet words :)

Rae - isn't it amazing how the two pieces look like a dress?

I was going to comment on this thread when my kimono arrived(so so geedy about it right now).
This outfit is so fabulous in so many ways.I love the moto, love the cobalt and my matchy matchy heart loves how you could find  shirt that matches the skirt in color.Love it!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Wow!  Amazing!  I want to wear this.  Too bad I have none of the pieces.  This is really stunning.

  • Kari replied 10 years ago

Oh, that is beautiful! I absolutely love "fake dresses" like this, when I find a top and skirt that work so well together. I adore that jacket, too.

  • JulieJohn replied 10 years ago

Love that jacket - the Shannon touch gives a moto the "grown up but still playful" look.

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

I see this as your (fabulous) signature look - I just love this to bits & beyond on you :) :)

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

    I LOVE this Shannon!
Those nude booties are so flattering, and the top and skirt are perfect together!

  • sarah replied 10 years ago

Fabulous! I love black, white, and cobalt : )

Love the floral over column of color. You are looking really toned in that outfit.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Any outfit which includes cobalt, floral and moto style can be nothing but winner!
It was a very good move to snatch this floral moto, it adds an instant kick to any outfit. And of course cobalt "sheath" is great to!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Thank you so much all :)

I can tell this floral moto is going to become a favourite piece in my wardrobe.  I'm so glad I looked back at the CM website.

    Amazing. Just so right!

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 10 years ago

I love everything about this. The silhouette could not be more flattering, the color is gorgeous with your skin and hair, the nude shoes are pretty but not stand-out and the jacket adds the punch of personality that we expect from you.

    Well done all around.

This is one of your best.  The colors, the proportions, the accessories.  Flawless and flattering.

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

Och, just superb, Shannon! Just superb!

And, I'm so excited, my blue deficient eyes can see that your top and bottom are a well-coordinated but not matchy-matchy set of blues!
