WIW: Double Tulip

My smaller size EF Dark Tulip dress arrived in the mail yesterday and I ripped off the tags to wear it today. The fit is very similar to that of my EF front drape dresses and I can imagine all sorts of possibilities.

Today though I decided to go "double tulip" and am wearing the dress with its cardigan mate. I love this tonal layered look and the fabrics feel fab against the skin.

I added dark tights and chose my gunmetal leather Naot Mary-Jane style shoes. I think I'm going to have to look for other black booties because my arches were killing me when I got home yesterday from my Ara booties :( Comfortable footwear was a must today.

For accessories I went with my rose gold/black watch and my oversized print clutch.

Would love your feedback on this outfit - layered dark red? fit of the dress? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Cardigan and dress: Eileen Fisher (eBay)
Tights: Hue
Clutch: XOXO (thrifted)
Shoes: Naot

Shannon, the dress is lovely and fits much better than the bigger size from what I can tell. You look terrific; I especially like the pattern of the bag against the red. So fun with your red specs.

Your column of red is lovely with your glasses and lipstick :)

My goodness! Your glasses are tulip! I'm a big fan of tonal outfits with texture and especially this tulip version. You look cosy. You are going to be reaching for this outfit often.

Wow that's a lotta red going on but is so fun! I love the big clutch with the ensemble.

I think the dress and cardigan look good together.  I can't really tell the fit of the dress with the cardigan over it, but from what I can tell, it looks good.

Oh you look so gorgeous & *expensive* in this (I meant that in a good way: it's one of my sister's style aspiration words). Love it!

So nice!  This is my fantasy outfit, a dress in a great color with a matching cardigan.  I haven't been able to find the right one for me but I love the look!  Swoon.

Very flattering color on you!  There is something so elegantly easy about a dress with topper -- ladylike, but sharp.

Oh you're all so darned sweet :) :)

I realize this is indeed a lot of red and might seem a wee bit much to some eyes - I'm ok with that. Definitely NOT an outfit to where if you want to blend in though - lol!

I'll try and get a pic when I get home without the cardigan so y'all can see the dress. No promises though - have a late meeting at work (4:00 - 6:00 p.m.) today.

FWIW I felt absolutely FAB in this today - comfortable but not boring you know?
