WIW: Double Snakeskin & a Repeat

I'm discovering that I would rather wear a repeat outfit in its entirety that I enjoy wearing, instead of re-mixing for the sake of re-mixing and coming up with something "meh".

So today I've paired my tweed front slouchy trousers with my L&T voluminous striped sweater and my python booties. I've worn this combination before so look away if it bores you! Last time I carried by black/white handbag with this combination, but today I've decided to up the snakeskin ante and have added my Elliot Lucca handbag. I like how the handbag pulls out the cream and green stripes in the sweater.

What do you think? Is it too much snakeskin? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Lord & Taylor
Trousers: Jessica (Sears)
Booties: Sam Edelman
Handbag: Elliott Lucca

I don't think it is too much snakeskin.

A warm outfit to be sure that looks fun for the cold. I love the python booties with the bag, and I think they are far enough away that they don't fight each other. Another fab outfit!

Not too much, and hooray for repeats!

I love these colours, and that handbag is one of my favourites. How would your cobalt booties look with this?

I love the snakeskin. You look cosy and stylish.

Not too much snakeskin, especially since it does not look like a "miss" on a "match". Loved the look before and the colors in this sweater are so nice, Shannon!

I am so with you on repeating entire outfits when we love them, Shannon. I really don't feel the need to remix just for the sake of remixing, high five.

I absolutely love you in those trousers! They work super well with this happy striped sweater and there's no snakeskin overload here, if you ask me.

I am also with you on repeating outfits! Especially this one, which I loved before and love again. And I love snakeskin so that's good with me too!

As a big fan of repeated outfits, I like it! And I think the bag works with it, too.

I love the colors in your sweater and I like how the pants are a textured gray. Of course love the booties. Suz helped me find a pair because I wanted to be like the cool kids on YLF :-)
I agree that this is not too much snake skin at all -- I think it's a lovely take on the graphic gray and cream stripes in your sweater and to a lesser degree in your trousers. This is cool.
    Stay warm!

Not too much snakeskin for me. I'm glad you asked this as I've also been carrying my Elliot Lucca snake clutch while wearing the python booties, feeling rebelliously matchy.
I'm also all for repeating outfits. I grew up with the women in my life buying and wearing things always as outfits, never mixing.

I repeat outfits all the time, so I am totally on board with this. Love the drape of the sweater withe the slouchy trousers. Such a great outfit!

Day Vies - have we seen you in the python booties yet??? I absolutely love them and am surprised at how versatile they are.

Inge - who knew an inexpensive pair of Sears trousers could work out so well!

Looks like we have a lot of repeat wearers here - whoo hoo!!!

    Wooohooo! Repeated outfit!!

Just as KILLER as the first time round.

Hear hear! If it aint broke don't fix it, Shannon! Fantastic outfit and love how beautifully the bag and booties go together, a match made in heaven.

If an outfit is fab then it should be repeated. This looks great, the colours are so lovely and the snakeskin looks wonderful with the stripes. I might be tempted to add a scarf in another pattern :)

SSSSssssssssuper outfit :) I know there's a rule about wearing only one animal print item at a time, but I occasionally double up...a belt and shoes or a bag and shoes... It doesn't seem overkill (no pun intended) to me.

I'm all about repeating - if it works, it works and should be seen again!

I believe in remixing when I get bored and stale, but I definitely rewear! I like the "matching" of the snakeskin. You look cozy and beautiful!

  • Astrid replied 11 years ago

I think it's great that you're repeating and posting it! :) Love the outfit.
