WIW: Double Animal

Today's outfit started with this wrap front hi-lo hem animal print blouse in black and cream. Underneath the blouse I'm wearing a 100% cotton light weight cami that keeps the blouse from rubbing on my shingles.

I spent the better part of yesterday shortening trousers that I used to wear with my Ara patent booties. I really can't wear them anymore so figured I should make my trousers PPL with the footwear I WILL be wearing. I shortened these bootcut trousers so paired them with the animal print blouse.

For footwear, I chose my black leather/animal print pointy toe not-quite-flats. I love the little peek of animal print to bookend the pattern of the blouse - but without it being too much, you know? These trousers will also work with my new Chelsea boots.

For accessories I went with my black handbag, gold wedding ring and red specs.

What do you think? It's fairly simple but it is comfortable. As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

That blouse is one of my favourites! And I just live how you have worn those shoes with the blouse...it's a very cool look. You are looking very glam and I would not know you were not 100% well. Have a great day and look after yourself:).

Beautiful blouse! And what fun and useful shoes, with black toes and heels and just a bit of animal print. It looks like your tailoring job was a success.

Hope you're managing alright with the shingles.

Simple chic is totally fab. The shoes make it extra special. Sorry to hear your Ara's, I didn't wear mine as much so they are still good to go.

Yes, chic is definitely the word for this.  It looks great on you. I really like the lipstick that you have on with it.  And I love the idea that when you sit down or walk,  surprise !, animal on the feet.   I have always liked details like that...that pop up seemingly out of nowhere.

Such a pretty blouse and looks great with the shoes!  Sorry to hear about the shingles, hope it is not too painful.  I just got the shingles vaccine last week, hopefully it will work, you can get it after 50 now in Canada, instead of age 60.  I wonder if it is too late after you've had a bout?

Great outfit with the shoes!  So smart of you to change all your pant hems to work with your current boots.  My two pairs of bootcut jeans are too long for my casual boots now.  I used to have boots with a higher heel that I purged because they were worn out and the new ones are all flatter.  I'm going to have to find time to take them in to be tailored.

Lovely. And so good to see your best items being reworn and remixed! :)

Good for you for taking care of pants hemming!  It's so hard to remember that maintaining a great wardrobe involves hemming, and fixing a seam (I should do that today myself) --- ironing, etc.

You look terrific.  Love the bit of shine in the top.  It lights up your face!

Great blouse!  I tried one on at our favourite Olsen boutique the other day - same leopard hi-low but in a soft rayon, gorgeous fabric.   Nearly died laughing at myself in the mirror, which highly offended the sales woman, who claimed she had the same one in the same size and  that SHE looked fine in it. Lol. It was so blousey and drapey it went straight down from my chest without draping in anywhere. Way too much to tuck in anywhere.  And that was the smallest size - totally ridiculous. Anyways - I love this on you - is this new this fall?
