WIW: Dark & Drapey

Grrrrr….I wish black photographed better. You can't see the shape or movement at all in these pics…oh well…

Today's outfit started with my EF faux wrap trousers - love how they have a bit of "swish" when you walk. I then tucked in a simple black tank for modesty and warmth and topped that with my black asymmetrical side zipper blouse thingy.

To add a bit of structure to this drapey outfit, I chose my black patent booties for footwear and my citron/cobalt clutch. I'm wearing a silver pendant (the one DH & DS got me for my 50th birthday), silver ring, red specs and lipstick to complete the outfit.

This is one of those outfits that's better in person than in pics - it has some movement and details like the faux wrap on the pants shows up.

What do you think - at least from what you can see? Does it work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Oh yeah - and sorry about the crazy eyes in pic #3 - lol!

Blouse & tank: Smart Set
Trousers: Eileen Fisher (eBay)
Booties: Ara
Clutch: Trouve

The outfit is great, but I also want to say you have gorgeous skin!! I hope mine looks that good in a few years ;)

I wish I could see the details as well Shannon, but the overall silhouette certainly looks great on you.

One of my super powers is being able to visualize the details of all black outfits in my head lol!! True. This is stunning. The beautiful flow and fabric of the pants and the modern simplicity of that blouse..the red lip,etc...perfection. And Shannon you are a stunner, you must have really cared for your skin..it is flawless.

I don't have Deborah's superpower but from what I can see this looks terrific - and agree your skin is glowing and gorgeous!

From what I can see, this is a winner, especially with your modern red specs and lipstick. Does the top have zipper detailing?

You should see Shannon's skin in person. It's SICK how beautiful she is.  I could not stop staring  - really weird, I know - lol.  Anyways, to stop talking about you like you are not even here - I am all about that Trouve bag. Very cool. Is that from Nordstrom (that's their own label, right?) ?

Lol Lisa! You do have lovely skin Shannon :) You outfit is fab too. I can see a little detail and I can see the zip on your top too. The patent boots are a great choice with this and as always you red lippy and specs are awesome.

Deborah - well isn't that a handy superpower? Lol :)

Joy - yes, the blouse has a non-functional short zipper on the one side where the wrap portion of the top meets.

Lisa - on my goodness...you made me blush and laugh all at the same time :) Yes, this clutch is from Nordstrom from a couple of years ago - I bought it not long after I joined YLF. It has been a real winner in my wardrobe.

Thank you so much ladies for your beautiful comments on my skin :)

I know what you mean about capturing the movement on film. You look great and the closeups really help. Not just your skin, but your gorgeous eyes caught my attention right away! Wow! Fab specs for a pop of colour with the outfit too.

Shannon, you do have amazing skin, and fun, not "crazy" eyes. Full of spunk and mischief. Which is a perfect juxtaposition to elegant black! :)

Fab to see you wear that special necklace again. I like how the red lippie and specs liven up the black. Nicely done. xo

    Beautiful outfit and beautiful skin!

The first thing I noticed was your incredible skin and eyes. SO lovely.

You wear black well! :) I like how the patent leather on the booties shines, because it adds texture to the outfit, which is so important in a monochrome look.

so beautiful! I am imagining the swish of the pants! They sound divine and the outfit works splendidly.

And your skin and lipstick are stunning!

The outfit is great - but you are all so right, Shannon your skin is amazing! I love the specs too.

Looking good, Shannon. Whilst I lack Deborah's superpower, I think the overall outfit is vey smart and stylish.
