Shannon you tease me! This looks so good. Love that blouse:). It think duplicating the jacket is brilliant. When you love so tent and it loves you back so deep,y, it makes sense to buy in multiples. Hope your shoes are comfy. You look wonderful.

One of your best looks Shannon. Duplicating the blazer sounds very smart to me.

Super look, Shannon! I think duplicating the blazer is a good idea.

What Tanya said. This is one of my favorite looks on you. I love the fit of those jeans.

Smart Casual Fabness.
Do you have two of exactly the same black blazer?

Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago
Deborah - I'm sorry :) But you can join the Danier top happy club when yours arrives! You will not be disappointed.
Angie - I only have this black blazer but it is starting to look a wee bit shabby due to excessive wear. I want to buy another black blazer to replace this one and originally was thinking of a bit more edgy, sharp shoulder style but am wondering if I should just buy this same blazer. The style and fit have worked incredibly well for me. Thoughts?
Thanks for the outfit love ladies - I'm actually feeling pretty snappy in this ensemble :)

Shannon, I agree with everyone. This is one smart, modern look! I love the print and line of your tunic. I do like that blazer on you -- can you duplicate it with another piece the same? The lines of the clutch just look fab with the assymetrical tunic, and I love that dark wash denim on you. Yay Friday!

Sure. I am all for duplicating brilliant wardrobe essentials.

Aliona - I believe I can duplicate with the same blazer - if I can find it in my size again.
Angie - out of curiosity (and if you pop back in), do you think a slightly edgier black blazer would suit this leg of my style journey better? I can really only afford one new black blazer so am looking to spend my $$ wisely.

The black blazer that you are wearing looks like it has a sharp shoulder vibe. I think I'd duplicate.

Absolutely duplicate. When it works so well, why not?
That top was also a great purchase for you. Yay!!

I'm another who thinks this is one of your best looks yet! And this blazer looks perfectly sharp shouldered to me . Get another one if it's been that good to you - lord knows that doesn't happen very often with clothes, so do it while you can!

Love that top, Shannon! And, isn't it a happy moment in my life that I would be happy to duplicate my all wardrobe actually:-)
-
Angie replied 9 years ago
Sure, Shannon. Why not. My suggestion is to keep the new edgier black jacket fitted though. You love jackets because they give your outfits structure and presence - a gentle reminder.

A black blazer with a floaty top and slim, dark jeans is one of my favorite formulas! The asymmetrical top makes it doubly interesting.
Happy weekend!

Very sharp smart casual look for Friday ( I am also glad it is Friday!)
This Danier top is quite a workhorse for you, isn't it?
And you should listen to Angie on duplicating, she knows best! :-)

This is a great dressy-jeans look, Shannon! That tunic is all kinds of wonderful, and your black blazer over it is brilliant. I say duplicate the blazer if you can; if not, get one that will fill the same wardrobe function, or you will just keep missing the old one.

Polished and modern. The Danier tunic is very Helmut Lang! The jacket looks sharp shoulder-y to me, so by all means, duplicate.
If you are interested in a black tuxedo type jacket, check this one out. It fits my short torso really well, and the sleeves are 3/4 length.
ETA: the model does not do this jacket justice. Much better IRL especially for us petites.

You've made this formula your own, Shannon, and it suits you perfectly.
The blazer fits you so well that it would be well worth duplicating, unless you find something even better beforehand.

You look great, Shannon. I'm all for duplicating workhorses :) Hope the stretched shoes felt comfortable. And wishing you a restful weekend after your busy week.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. I'm definitely a jacket hall and always feel more pulled together as soon as I pop in that completed piece. And you're right Angie in that I like jackets for the structure they provide - and please feel free to keep reminding me of that :)
Denise - I never even thought of Express! I absolutely LOVE this jacket you've linked to - beautiful shape with the back detail and as a short armed gal, adore the ruched sleeves, especially since I always scrunch my sleeves anyway. Would you say the fit is TTS?
