WIW: Cobalt & White

I enjoy a high contrast outfit just as much as I like an all black outfit - go figure! I also realized this morning that I've been wearing some items in my wardrobe over and over again because I love how they look and feel, but have been neglecting a few other items that are equally nice.

Today's outfit started with my cobalt blue knit pencil skirt to which I added my twist front v-neck drapey tee. On top of that, I chose my crisp white blazer, with scrunched sleeves. I haven't worn this skirt, tee and blazer in a while and I actually don't think I've put them all together before.

For footwear I went with my trusty bone/silver sandal shoes - can't help thinking how bright white footwear would be even crisper with this. White footwear is definitely on my spring list for next year.

Accessories include my quilted cobalt/cream handbag, gold watch and wedding band, and red specs.

So what do you think? Does this all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer: Nygard
Tee: BCBG
Skirt: Cleo Petite
Shoes: Fugitive
Handbag: Danier Leather
Watch: thrifted

Beautiful repeat of white and blue.  I must have missed those shoes before but the soft metallic straps are perfect with this outfit.  Very well done Shannon.

Thanks Dianthus - I've had these shoes now since spring of last year and am going to be very sorry when they finally fall apart. They are total workhorses for me.

Interesting thought about bright white shoes. I actually really like the different whites here - which is not to say it wouldn't look good with bright white shoes too! You look fab as always Shannon!

Lovely outfit, Shannon. I hear you on the shoes, but I think the silver straps on these make them quite exceptional. They work really well with many shades of white.

Another winner Shannon!  I think with this outfit, the bone colour of the shoes helps you get away with the off-white in the purse  If the shoes were stark white, the bag might look "off".  This looks like intentional mixing of whites.

I love cobalt and white!  The shoes are great and I always enjoy seeing them in your outfits.  Bright white would look good too.

That's a fabulous outfit! I love the shoes as well.

Pretty and put together as usual, Shannon!  And I second the others in saying that I think bright white shoes might actually be too uniform-y looking here and are exactly what you don't want :)  The shoes you have with the metallic strap and in the softer white are perfect.  You have really figured out your colours and your look - I admire you!

Cobalt pairs just as well with white as it does with black.  I often sport my white jacket with my cobalt jeans.  A great look!  I need a color blocked bag like this one for my cobalt jeans.

Of course this works - and I love the shoes and bag you chose. You look great!

Yes to cobalt and white!  Love the soft sheen in the jacket and the way it makes you glow in the photo.  The silhouette is easy, but very flattering.  You look polished and approachable.

Transcona Shannon--what a lovely treat to see you dressed! I am in awe of the pairing of the shoes with the purse --and with everything else. That is some masterful mixing there. Love it.
