WIW: Cobalt & Leather

After a good month of upheaval on many levels, I'm starting to feel like ME again and this outfit is the stylistic illustration of that.

I started today's outfit with my cobalt pencil skirt, which I haven't worn in ages. For some reason I had it in my head that this skirt is for spring/summer/fall only and not for winter - how silly! So I paired the skirt with my black ruched asymmetrical tank and topped that with my black leather blazer. I chose my mini dot hose and my knee high flat boots for footwear. I've been wearing heels a lot lately and my wonky knee needs a break. No jewelry other than a black and silver chunky ring and I went with my quilted cobalt/cream/black handbag.

What are thoughts on this outfit? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer and handbag: Danier Leather
Tank: Attitude by Jay Manuel
Skirt: Cleo Petite
Hose: Hue

P.S. Gain says good morning and would like to note that his orange fur works really well with cobalt.

Shannon Danier should pay you . This is such good modeling of their stuff!!!

This reminds me a bit of Janet's outfit from yesterday. You look great, Shannon. I am glad you are settling in.

What Ramya said! I love how the bag ties it all together and the jacket is smashing with the cobalt skirt.

Shannon, another winner. I love black+cobalt, also the refreshing hit of white in the handbag and the boots are amazing.

You look happy, relaxed and very, very you in this.

Sleek and gorgeous! Love the edgy vibe you have achieved with the black leather blazer over asymmetrical top. The cobalt skirt is stunning on you. So glad that things are finally calming down for you

So glad you feel like *you* now :) And might I say a very stylish *you* today!

I love the blue skirt and your bag bookending it. The tough jacket and asymmetric necked top are stunning. Fab!

    You look funktastic!

Relieved sighs for getting to find yourself again-and it's showing through! Love the outfit, the bag and Gain are  of course both spectacular!

  • Elizabeth P replied 4 years ago

Lovely!  Glad you brought that skirt out to play, maybe it'll get a lot more wear now.

Also glad to hear you're settling in.

    Very pretty.

What's not to love in cobalt and black .... And that awesome bag :). Gorgeous top to toe!

  • April replied 4 years ago

Shannon, you know you've had an influence on someone when she recognizes your handbag from the Danier site because she went there in the first place after seeing some of your stuff.  :)

I should've read your post this morning before I got dressed and opted for the black with my cobalt!!  You look sensational!

And I am glad the transition is both going well and coming to an end. Transitions are so stressful (at least for me).

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

Laughing at April's comment. Yup, Danier should pay you. They owe at least one of my leather jackets to your example!

Glad to see you sporting it and glad to know you are doing better.

    Great outfit!

Sensational! I really dig the two tones of blue together and the bit of asymetrical peek at the collar area. Very nice look Shannon, glad to hear you are feeling more settled after all the changes you've been experiencing :)

  • carambola replied 4 years ago

Ooh, that handbag is sensational with your outfit. Love black and cobalt together -  you look terrific! Glad to hear things are settling down.

  • MuseumGal replied 4 years ago

You always look great, but I particularly love this outfit!

  • Lisa replied 4 years ago

A great look, I have a pair of cobalt jeans that have sat all winter.  This makes me want to take them out for a spin.  Lovely outfit!  And orange is lovely with cobalt, give furbaby a pet for me.

Shannon: This outfit totally reminds me of Angie. perfection. I love that you left off accessories other than the bag. I also love the pop of lip color. I think we instinctively know when we look good and own the look. No wonder you "feel" like yourself.

Love the idea of Danier paying me to showcase their beautiful things - could it be in product thought instead of cash? - lol!

Having a great day today and your lovely comments just made it all the better - thank you.

P.S. I will gladly take any blame for enabling others to buy Danier things :)

  • Beth Ann replied 4 years ago

Gorgeous!  I want to come and Danier shop with you (I also want to sew with Diane)!

I love the flat boots --- I actually think they can be an edgier choice, particularly with pencils.  I have a robin egg blue pencil that I plan on bringing out next week with black --- its a pick me up that's so necessary during this frigid winter!  The jacket is extremely flattering -- wear it often!

    A billion thumbs up!

A-Mazing. Gain is cute too :)

Sharp and minimal. You look gorgeous. Can't wait for you to throw in the new red specs.

  • greenglove replied 4 years ago

Love the whole look- cobalt and black is gorgeous!

  • CocoLion replied 4 years ago

    So perfect!

Sign me up for the copycat danier wannabe club - is this a recent purchase? Do you mind sharing the style name as I'm in the market and the proportion looks great!

Note to self - need cobalt skirt ASAP

  • Karie replied 4 years ago

Here are my thoughts on this outfit: It's fab and I'm going to copy it! I'll have to swap out a few things, but the outfit wheels in my head are turning!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 4 years ago

A billion apologies for not being able to get back to my own threads in a timely manner - I'll explain why in the Off Topics section for anyone who is interested.

Wouldn't it be a blast to have a YLF invasion of Danier for a day of shopping and then out for coffee and sweets?

abc - this blazer is two years old (I think?) and is no longer available in store on on the website.

Angie - I am very impatiently waiting for my new glasses...
