WIW: CM Floral Moto

The Club Monaco floral moto jacket arrived yesterday - I tried it on last night, fell in love and ripped the tags of. No Keep/Return necessary. This one fits perfectly - and for the record, I can zip it up just fine and it looks great.

Since sometime during the last year I joined Team Wear, I'm showing this beauty off today for Denim Day. I've popped it on over a plain white v-neck tee, semi tucked into my Gap sexy BF's with a wide white belt. On my feet are the perforated bone oxfords and I'm carrying my light cream handbag.

Have I mentioned I LOVE LOVE LOVE this jacket! Angie and Anna - you were sooooo right :)

Happiness scale? Immeasurable.

Now for a bit of advice please - would appreciate some styling suggestions on what else to wear the floral moto with. There are obvious choices like over my black sheath dress and my ink blue lace dress, white jeans...what else?

So what do you think of this outfit? Does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Club Monaco
Tee and jeans: Gap
Shoes: Dolce Vita
Handbag: Danier Leather

P.S. I just realized that three of the items I'm wearing today are Angie picks (jacket, jeans, shoes)...I wonder if that's why the happiness scale is so high???

Perfect, Shannon! It looks awesome! I am so glad it got a second chance.

The moto was a great wardrobe addition for you. So glad you decided to take a chance on it.

There is nothing I don't love about this including your cheeky poses! I will leave the suggestions to others and hope to enjoy the results!
  • Andrea W replied 10 years ago
    Great outfit.

I vote that you should wear the floral moto with a striped dress (either sheath or maxi) or a skirt for that matter.  Stripes and florals always go well together.
  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago
Wow, this is a great grown up floral!  Als for the styling ideeas, all  like you said ar good...You could also ad some color, or could  it be some more tinny black and white dotted or thin striped monochromatic prints there on your top or lower half instead of solids  ... am I wrong?

Did I miss a post on this jacket? I love it Shannon. So you (and I want one too) what a fab jacket for spring.

  • carolbee replied 10 years ago

This looks gorgeous on you, so glad you bought it.

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

Shannon, posting quickly because I MUST go to bed but had to say that even from the thumbnails this is a winner. G'night.

YAY!!!! It is fantastic on you, Shannon, and so worth the wait. Absolutely love this!

For other combos besides those already mentioned, can you wear it with one or more of your slouchy trousers? Do you have a bright coloured pencil skirt to try with it (obviously black or white or perhaps a grey would work, but I am curious about how it would work with a bright, too). You have some neon accents you could pair with it, right?
  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago
    Thank you ladies!

Andrea - I do have a blue/white/black striped dress I'm thinking of trying it with. Thanks!

Suz - will definitely try with my black slouchy trousers and it's funny you mention a bright coloured pencil skirt...did a bit of damage at Cleo Petite last night and picked up a gorgeous cobalt blue pencil skirt (the longer and new version of our tiered pencil skirt) and a sour green flippy skirt that I could try it with (and an orange slouchy back zip sweater too). And I do have my citron clutch for some neon. Thank you for the suggestions!

I swear, this is one of your Top Ten looks. Just love everything about it. Black, white and grey is a no-brainer for you.
  • sarah replied 10 years ago
Wow, it's SOOO great on you! Hooray!
  • missvee replied 10 years ago

Love it on you! Great pick. What about white on white - white jeans and top, black and white or snake print shoes plus citron clutch.
Your new skirts sound good too.

Yummy and perfect for Shannon-style!  I was just thinking, "this would look great with my bright blue pencil," when I noticed in the comments that you've just acquired a cobalt blue version.  What fun you'll have making outfits with this jacket!  Love it with the boyfriends.
  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago
That jacket is SO you, Shannon. I'm so glad that it worked out for you. LOVE it.
  • replied 10 years ago
What a stunning jacket on you, especially because of your hair! Please wear it with everything, all the time. Do you have a black dress with small dots? It would be fun to try some tame pattern mixing like that.
  • texstyle replied 10 years ago
Love it Shannon!  This is such a perfect floral for you - it goes well with your hair, looks modern, fits you perfectly and makes me feel like I still need to lean much more about fashion. lol.
  • bj1111 replied 10 years ago

This is edgy and still you!

  • Isis replied 10 years ago
    Love everything about this.  YLF!
  • celia replied 10 years ago
There are so many other things I should be doing but couldn't help myself from commenting on the fabness of that jacket on you. You and it were meant to be.

I would try a almost white outfit with white jeans and white slouchy tee underneath.Or pair it with cobalt shorts , or your cobalt skirt, or a red/coral top and black slouchy pants .

Ps:I know, Angie's pics always make me happy to.
  • rae replied 10 years ago
Woohoo! What a fabulous happy ending, now that you got the right size and on sale to boot! Doing a happy dance for you.
  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago
Oh my....you have all given me such fabulous suggestions for further stylings - I need to write these all down.

And I'm glad that you like the jacket too - hey Rae, I've been doing the happy dance since last night!
  • replied 10 years ago
Glad you're doing a happy dance Shannon! And so you should, you look great! Fab styling and lots more ideas as well. I look forward to seeing them :)
  • Angie replied 10 years ago
SO HAPPY YOU GOT THAT MOTO!! It's *so* Shannon it's ridiculous, and therefore meant to be yours :)

K to the power of K

How about pairing the jacket with those new long dressy shorts?

I need to recover from your sizzling style quotient, which means.....

    *faints with citron crash helmet*

(I found the citron helmet last night).
  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago
Angie - you are so ADORABLE :) And I'm so relieved you found your citron helmet. Do you still have your white and pink ones as well? And thank you so much for the K2K rating - I'm humbled.

You have no idea how HUGE my smile was when I put this jacket on last night after ripping off the packaging like some crazy woman...will definitely try it with the dressy shorts (I still have to sew on the button). What footwear and top would you suggest to go with? I'm thinking my girly pointy toed kitten heels and maybe a slouchy white top?

Diane - I may not stop dancing for a while yet!
  • merwoman replied 10 years ago
Through the roof and into the stratosphere! No wonder you ripped the tags!!
  • replied 10 years ago

    Super cute!

  • kkards replied 10 years ago
this jacket is fab! and the matching shoes and bag!
outfit is a winner, no wonder your happiness factor is so high!
  • Karie replied 10 years ago
I haven't read the other comments yet, but my suggestions are:

Pencil skirt - red would be fantastic, but so would any other color
    Your slouchy trousers
    An A line dress
Anything and everything! The jacket looks GORGEOUS on you :)

Now I'm off to see what everyone else has said...
  • catgirl replied 10 years ago
It was made for you, Shannon.  I can see this over your black sheath, for starters.  With white bottoms.  Etc.
  • Angie replied 10 years ago
Love the sound of that outfit combo, Shannon! Go for it. I also love hearing the delight with which you ripped open that package!!

The white crash helmet was stolen, but the citron and shocking pink are in working order.
  • Raisin replied 10 years ago
Jacket looks great, as does the outfit!  You look so fab in that jacket it makes me want to go try it on!
  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago
    It's on sale Raisin...
  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago
Any more of this & I'll start fainting too. I can't begin to tell you how fab you look it's perfect Shannon:) This will be more than a jacket - it will be a benchmark for future purchases for sure.
  • replied 10 years ago

I wish it was a leaf pattern and not floral because I would probably buy it!

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago
    PERFECT jacket for you, Shannon!
You look so relaxed and uncontrived. Love it!
  • MNsara replied 10 years ago
Most awesome jacket and outfit and shoes :-)  SO happy you gave this a second chance!

I read your jacket/shoes thoughts too, and totally agree that they can make or break an outfit.    They can be the pieces that you choose according to mood, and build your outfit around.

Now, I'm wishing I had checked out your awesome moto . . .  !  It's not available online anymore, is it?
  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago
MNsara - here's the link on the website to the jacket. It looks like it's still available http://www.clubmonaco.ca/produ.....8;ab=ln_wo

Thanks everyone for the jacket love - I'm already thinking of wearing it again next week in another outfit.
  • krishnidoux replied 10 years ago
Lovely, lovely and loveable outfit. So cool. And you wear it like a glove!
  • Ariadne replied 10 years ago
Shannon, I love this so so so so so much!  (I used up all my Real Words in a two-hour writing marathon today, so five sos in a row will have to do.)

We're fraternal print twins. I have the pants in this print (the Sonica Botanical; they have pink in them), which Suz recommended for me.  I'm going to do a Shannon-in-reverse some time this week with my faded denim jacket and grey oxfords.  All credit to you. <3
  • annagybe replied 10 years ago
Late, but it's great on you. Glad you got it.
