WIW: Chambray and Oxfords

Today's simple outfit consists of my chambray shirt dress and my cream oxfords. I added my large cream handbag, taupe/silver wrap watch and purple/clear specs as accessories. A swipe of berry lipstick and I'm ready to head out the door. Doesn't get much easier than that!

Dress: Old Navy (thrifted)
Shoes: dolce vita
Watch: Fossil (thrifted)
Handbag: Danier Leather

I really like this on you Shannon.  It is simple and has clean lines.  The white accessories are really nice with the blue too.  It looks like it is going to be a dull day out there.  Your berry lip adds a bit of brightness to the dreary city.

Seriously, how do you thrift such current and awesome items?!

Looks fab.  And I think the oxfords are a brilliant choice of shoe here.

Gorgeous summer look for you, Shannon.

Oh man....if I were a guy, I'd fall for you, Shannon!!! Such effortless style, I must say :P

I love those oxfords. They look swell with that dress. The bag brings in a soft feminine touch with its classic shape.

Sadly, I have a very similar pair of oxfords in berry/brown shade of leather. But everytime I wear them, I look rather silly. I have given up now....I just cannot do high vamp footwear with dresses/skirts or even cropped pants.

I really like it.  Simple, yet so appropriate for a Friday.  You would fit in beautifully anywhere.

Easy peasy and super gorgeous! This is why I love casual dresses.

Cheryle - aren't you just so sick of the gray skies and rain? So many other places are incredibly dry - I would gladly send them our wet!

Deborah - here I had been searching for a lightweight chambray dress for two summers and lo and behold, it was sitting at Value Village!

Maneera - oh my! You made me laugh out loud with your adorable comment. Thank you so much :) And I hear you about the oxfords with dress thing - I think these oxfords work because they are light colored and kind of blend with my pale legs - so not high contrast.I suspect I would feel the same as you if they were a darker color.

Sterling - it is kind of the perfect "casual Friday" dress, isn't it?

Thank you Ummlila, Donna and Karie :)

Where do you two live?  It's full on sunny in River Heights :)  Anyways - another great look Shannon - even on the hottest most muggy days you always look fresh and pulled together.  Have a great weekend !

Terrific find, Shannon, and a great way to be cool, but polished on summer days.
