WIW: Casual for a Working Non-Work Day

Technically it is a day off for me (our Administrative Office has an extended Easter weekend) but because I am single-handedly responsible for the payroll of 68 Obstetricians and Gynecologists, I have to go in to work for a couple of hours this morning to do the payroll or those docs won't get paid. But there will be nobody else in our office so I'm going casual all the way.

It's turned cold again - in fact, it snowed yesterday - so started out choosing my green cashmere sweater. I've paired it with my grey slouchy slim jeans, semi tucked to show a leather and stud belt. I've popped on my black wedge booties for comfort and warmth and am wearing my black leather with gold hardware slouchy handbag.

I really like the pairing of this sweater and these jeans - both in fit and in color. What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Lord & Taylor
Jeans: Jessica Simpson
Belt: thrifted
Handbag: Christopher Kon (consignment)
Boots: Blowfish

Yes! this looks excellent, Shannon. Casual but put together. I love the sweater with the grey, and the belt is a perfect touch. We had snow this morning too!

Looks great and you have such a smile today! Those jeans complement your hair colour beautifully.

Looks so comfy and yet still put together!

We had snow this morning too, and a definite drop in temps.  But I'm convinced it's the last of the season - plants are up and early ones a blooming.  Somehow it makes me not mind the snow and chill.  :)

Oh yes! Love those jeans! Makes me want to try Jessica Simpson jeans.  The green sweater still makes it feel like Spring, as well.  YLF, of course!

Shannon, you are glorious in green.  I want to steal that sweater.  The mid tone of the color looks great with the grey and black.

I love the vivid shade of turquoise with the faded black jeans. Such a nice contrast and I LOVE that handbag. I am a sucker for a triangular slouchy hobo. YLF!

I do payroll too!   Sometimes there are only 5 people to pay, sometimes it's closer to 20, depending on the season and tourist traffic.  It took me a while to figure out all of the tax payments, I made some mistakes at first with the accompanying fines from the IRS.  :-(

Love you in this sweater Shannon, what a fab color and style on you.  And the faded grey/black jeans are right up my alley.  You look ready to pay at least 200 more doctors in this outfit!

I love how the jeans echo the color of your hair.  The green and grey look great together!

Sorry I'm so late checking back in - my boss ended up coming in for a bit and before I knew it, I had put in almost a full day of work on a day off :(

I really liked the pairing of these two items but ended up being waaaaaay too hot in the cashmere sweater.

    Thanks all!

Gorgeous sweater even if it was warm! Love that color on you.

That stinks you had to work on a day off. Do they do comp time? I usually do that with my department. If they have to come in on a holiday, I trade them for another day of vacation.
