WIW: Cargo Copy

I've always enjoyed watching MaryK put together fab outfits based on Pinterest ensembles. I've been pinning outfits for a while now and decided to try and copy some of the outfits I really like.

Today's ensemble started with my olive green cargo pants to which I added my draped front white tee. The Pinterest version has a drapey blush tee but I don't have that colour, although I would love to find one.  On top of that, I've added my black suit blazer with scrunched sleeves. My pointy toe patent booties are the footwear of choice. Then to add a bit of blush to the outfit, I went with my blush with gold hardware leather clutch. My rose gold/black watch, black/white specs and gold ring finish off the outfit.

So what do you think? Decent copy? I must admit - it's not only fun but kind of makes putting together the outfit easy because you've already been given the idea. As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

P.S. Gain felt he could add something to the accessories department.

Blazer: Nygard
Tee: BCBG
Cargo pants: Ricki's
Booties: Ara
Watch: Fossil
Clutch: Danier Leather

Lovely Shannon! I love the drapey top with the utilitarian cargo pants! And the jacket polishes the entire outfit! I am in love with pinterest too :). And nice little kitty!

    Fab!

Fresh, Modern and Gorgeous. Just like our stunning Shannon - whose daily smile and enthusiasm light up this forum. xo

Alicat - and Gain would gladly snuggle you right back! He is SUCH a big cuddle bug.

Neel - isn't Pinterest great for finding inspiration? I agree it's the jacket that adds the polish to make the outfit work appropriate.

Thanks all - glad that this seems to work :)

Ha ha - cross posted with you Angie :)  Your words are too kind...

  • Catnip replied 10 years ago

You did it and you look great!  You certainly look better, and healthier, than the model.

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

Wow, this is so chic!!  I am a sucker for an olive pant and this one is a beauty!

But you are gonna have to work on your sullen stare...

  • Marmee replied 10 years ago

I love it!  I am favoriting this so that I can copy you (as soon as I find the right black blazer)

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Love the slouch in the cargos -- and the watch, too.

And the kitty, even though I'm a dog lover!

I'm in black and white today.  Black for mourning the snow on the ground.  White to match it until it (please, dear Lord) melts away.

Great outfit (it's fun to use those pins for something, isn't it)! Both yours and the original read a little more autumnal to me, but of course I don't have a good sense of the fabrications which makes all the difference ;) Are you wearing pinky lipstick?? I love it!!

(Hello pretty kitty! Your orange is a lively addition to this moody color palette ^^)

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 10 years ago

    Looks really good.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

    Thank you so much ladies!

Mary - I don't know if I can even do sullen!

Beth Ann - I hear you on the weather. I can't even talk about it anymore :(

Aida - you have quite the keen eye cause I am wearing a pink lippie. I thought it would bring some spring! The outfit probably does read a bit autumnal but maybe that's because it feels like that outside! The trousers are a very light cotton blend and the tee is very light so it feels a bit more springy than it looks. Pumps would have been springer too but it was -17 this morning...

  • Aida replied 10 years ago

That is ridiculously cold, at any time of year -_- With the fabrication you describe that lightens up the look immensely in my head!
I'm also into a similar pinky lippie this season :D

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

You think that's cold any time? We just had the coldest winter on record since 1898 and had 6 consecutive weeks where our temperature never got any warmer than -30 Celsius and we hit -50 Celsius three times. It's been brutal - plus we still have about 2 feet of snow on the ground. Makes me wonder why I live here...

  • Aida replied 10 years ago

For me that's waaay cold, I think the coldest I've experienced is around -10C. Good lord, -30 and -50 doesn't even register to me :D

I love your version of the Pinterest photo and way of wearing the olive cargo pants. The clutch is a treasure and it's guardian Gain, the closet critic, seems to approve.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

    Love this!
