WIW: Cardigan for Fuchsia Friday

Although this sweater is more of a berry shade, I figured it would still work for Fuchsia Friday. I've popped it on over a dark purple tank, then added my dark wash, straight legged jeans since it is Casual Friday at work. For footwear, I decided to keep up the jewel tone look and wear my blue suede booties. And for jewelry today, I pulled out one of my favourite necklaces. I haven't worn my necklaces for a while but I'm starting to feel itchy to wear them again. Handbag today is my grey snakeskin clutch.

And of course when I head out the door, I've added my citron short puffer and my snakeskin gloves.

What do you think? good Casual Friday look? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Cardigan: Nygard
Tank: Gap
Jeans: Reitmans
Boots: Aerosole
Handbag: thrifted
Puffer: Esprit
Necklace: Lia Sophia

Wow - the citron puffer! You make even puffers look super stylish. The purple and fuschia are gorgeous on you of course!

Wow. Wow. Wow. I think that is triple wow. Purple. Fuschia. Citron

Gorgeous, Shannon! I love the surprise of fuchsia under citron...it's like you've got summer stored up on your body! And the blue booties kick it up another notch.

Sigh. Clearly I need more footwear options....

These jeans are a great shape for you - the whole outfit is super flattering. I think you are right about needing the necklace to finish things off. It adds a little unexpected texture and shine.

What's not to love? You look fab! I really like how the jewel tones provide continuity through the outfit. So ingenious of you for thinking of that! And the puffer - oh my goodness, I'm dying here.

Shevia - this is my first citron item EVER! Angie's influence I must admit - and I love it!

    Caro - thanks!

Suz - these booties were the first Angie recommended item I purchased after joining YLF and they are so comfortable. Aerosoles still carries them BTW....hint hint...

Missvee - thanks for the comment about the jeans shape in particular. I'm finding more and more that I'm reaching for this silhouette.

RunnerChick - it didn't start out being jewel toned themed but once I had the cardigan and tank on I kind of went "hey...that's kind of cool, let's go with it" and I really like how it turned out.

    Neon puffer

    *faints*

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Uh oh...Angie? You ok? Tea....where's the tea???

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    I'm okay.

LOVE THE NEON PUFFER!! Sorry that I can't focus on the fuchsia....

Love the puffer. I am in the market for a fun puffer now too. I have decided having only two coats is silly in our climate and I have gone crazy now with more.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

    *chuckles*

I knew you'd focus on the puffer - lol! I bought this at The Bay about a month ago (Esprit brand). I love it because of the colour of course but also there's a hood that zips on and off and the sleeves zip on and off as well so you can wear it as a vest. Plus it's warm and comfy.

I love seeing your casual side. Great outfit. I thought business dressing was your forte but I see you do casual just as well! Looking awesome, Shannon!

  • replied 11 years ago

Shannon, how is the sizing on it? I see it on the Bay site and I forgot you said the sleeves zip off but this would be perfect for me too -- love the colour.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Ceit - I sized up one size on the puffer because I wanted to be able to layer a thick sweater or blazer comfortably underneath, but technically I would say it is TTS.

I love that it's convertible as a vest - here's a pic of me wearing it that way for reference.

  • replied 11 years ago

Ok - I am usually on the edge of a small or medium, but I would probably do the same and get the medium as I would want to layer too. It just appeared on the Bay website today :) I hope you don't mind if I copy you.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Copy away Ceit - I'm totally in love with this puffer and know you will be too! I'm trying to convince Suz she needs the fuchsia version!

Kelly - thanks for the lovely compliment regarding my casual outfits. I definitely am more comfortable with my work style but am slowly learning about casual dressing thanks to you fab ladies!

    Citron puffer - heaven.

Am I allowed to say that I like this combination better than your Nygard jacket outfit from yesterday? The proportions just seem to work better all round. And I love the citron jacket in this iteration. All in all, a wonderful outfit.

  • Lisa replied 11 years ago

Yes, this color is lovely on you. And that bright coat *swoon*

  • K. Period. replied 11 years ago

Glorious! Others' eyes may all be on the neon, but I'm smittened with your fuchsia blazer and your gorgeous clutch. The whole outfit is amazing, Shannon!

Have we seen that cardi on you in the past? What about the jeans? The jeans are a super flattering cut and fit on you; at first I thought they were trousers. They drape PERFECTLY. Dunno how you do it.every.time.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

JR - interesting you mention that because I was thinking also that this works a little better. I think part of it is because this cardigan is worn open (there are no closures) and that creates a longer line on me. And yes, it's absolutely ok to mention that :)

Donna - I bought this cardigan last year and I have posted it here but only once I think. I kind of got away from cardigans for a bit but am feeling the love for them again so pulled it out. I have worn these jeans before but not for a while. They are my favourite pair actually and do they do fit well. Thank you!

    Thanks Kiwi, Lisa and K!

Shannon, I adore this outfit on you. It is... perfect. So lovely and eye pleasing in every way. This tone of fushia makes your skin sing. The jeans are so perfectly well cut. Classic, grown up, sexy. Booties are fun yet discreet, like a surprise to be discovered, like a distant echo to the cardi. And the cardi... wow! Times ten. IT was genius to keep it dark underneath. Its shape and length are just the right fit for you.

Clutch is the cherry on top.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Thanks krishnidoux - you're making me blush!
