WIW: Brown, cream & purple

I love how MaryK combines her various blouses with her Amber Sun jacket so that was the inspiration and starting point for today's outfit.

I've combined my BR cream pussy bow blouse with my purple Amber Sun jacket and my dark brown trousers. I'm wearing a leather belt with cut outs surrounded by small brass studs and my animal Doc Danielle's for footwear. I'm using my Fossil handbag and over top everything when I head out the door is my black/camel wool coat.

What do you think? I can't help wish I'd paired the top half of my outfit with a colourful pencil skirt ala Mary.

Blazer: Amber Sun
Blouse: Banana Republic
Trousers: Esprit
Shoes: Doc Martens
Handbag: Fossil
Belt: thrifted

BTW - the blouse photographs kind of funny because of the slight sheen. I swear my chest does NOT look like this IRL - lol!

Your purple jacket and your accessories (belt, shoes, purse) really make this outfit fantastic! You look very stylish. Pencil skirts are great, but I like the look of pants too. From the photos, everything looks like it fits you perfectly. Well done!

I love the patterned blouse with the purple jacket! You look great!

So that's how you wear a blouse under the amber sun jacket! I just love this look. I have admired that blouse at BR many times and I have the jacket in teal. Those shoes are just too much fun. You look utterly stylish but also ready to seize the day and get the job done!
Some of the bloggers I see, their outfits just don't look realistic, I have to wonder if they actually 'live' in their clothes (not on this forum of course).

Very pretty! Who knew purple went so well with brown?? Love the blouse as well.

    Thanks all!

Tina - I've often wondered that too about style blogger's outfits. How do they function in the real world in some of their beautiful ensembles?

This is great, Shannon - I don't love PB blouses, but you and MaryK certainly rock them.

(Looks like we are both wearing each other's poison eye items today!)

Well it had to happen sooner or later Una - lol!

I am not a fan of PB either, but you rock this, Shannon. I love brown and purple together. Could you try this with your brown lace skirt too?

You look fabulous, Shannon! I love the blouse and jacket together, and the shoes are perfect.

Great idea Ceit - that could work. This is actually the first time I've paired brown and purple and really like them together. It's kind of "royal moody".

    Thanks Emily!

I love the PB blouses on MaryK and really think you did this look very well. Pencil skirts are amazing, but the beauty of being a woman is versatility!

This is terrific. I agree wholeheartedly with Tina. The great thing about your outfits is that, stylish and interesting and unique as they are (and they ARE) they also look wearable.

You are making me wish I'd searched for the BR blouse myself; I was in the store very briefly this afternoon, but alas, TOO briefly, and with daughter in tow on the way to a doctor's appt. True shopping was not to be.

Love the purple with the brown.

This is lovely. What I find apealing is the the grown up, modern look of this outfit. Pussy bow blouses can look very staid (I personally love them) but this combination is interesting and very current. You look fabulous.
