WIW: Black, white & yellow

I'm continually inspired by Sveta's outfits with "our" yellow Gap Academy blazer. A particular favourite is how she wears it with black and white.

So today I started my outfit with my black/white abstract tiered dress and added the bright yellow blazer over top with popped collar and scrunched sleeves. For footwear, I went with my Clarks black sandals and decided to go completely matchy-matchy with my yellow clutch which is pretty much the exact same yellow as the blazer. My white watch and silver wedding ring round out the outfit.

What do you think? Does it all work together? Does the yellow clutch work or would I have been better off to go with white or black? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer: Gap
Dress: Cleo Petite
Sandals: Clarks
Clutch: Gap
Watch: thrifted

Oooh! Fun, Shannon! I like the yellow clutch with it a lot. That is such a great dress, I really like it with the blazer.

Shannon, the yellow blazer looks great with the monochromatic dress. I think yellow clutch is fine, but you could probably give black clutch a try?!

Shannon, I love this. That dress is another one of my absolute faves on you!

I also adore those sandals. I know that they're not new or anything, but there is something about their shape that is immensely flattering to your leg. I like the way they give the impression of being high vamp when in fact they actually have lower vamps! It's a cool visual trick.

I like yellow with black and white too, and the yellow clutch looks great. The yellow jacket looks a bit long to my eye, but I think it works with the slim dress.
What a perfect outfit to start the week.

This is a lovely suprise:). The contrast of the burst of colour with the black and white is incredibly fresh and "new" looking. Brilliant outfit! You look lovely.

You're like a little ray of sunshine Shannon (and that's not easy to say :D )
The yellow and black and white are lovely.

You wear frocks with blazers with the best of them, Shannon. I also vote happy and brilliant outfit.

I like the bright yellow with the patterned dress.  The yellow clutch looks good to me (I like matchy-matchy), but I think your outfit is simple enough that there is a lot of room for embellishment with different handbags.

I like the outfit and think the happy yellow clutch looks very good with it. I just keep wishing for a little bit of more yellow in the outfit like a bracelet, necklace, something small but yellow.

Joy - I agree that the jacket borders on too long with the dress. If the bottom of the dress were more flared, it definitely would not work.

Angie - a frock and blazer is my favorite formula of ALL TIME!

Thank you everyone - and I'm so glad I'm wearing this blazer today because it's positively freezing in my office :(
