WIW: Black, white & touches of coral

Dare I hope that Spring has really arrived in Winnipeg??? It was quite lovely over the weekend (although very windy at times) and the forecast is fab for the week. So out come the sandals!

Today's outfit started with my black, slim leg EF trousers to which I added a white tank and my black/grey/white ombre silk sleeveless drapey EF blouse. LOVE this blouse! It is probably one of my favourite purchases EVER.

I then topped the outfit with my black blazer as I have a Board meeting today and need to be appropriately dressed.

i grabbed my black low heeled sandals, silver watch and wedding band, black/white specs and a gigantic pop of colour with my bright coral handbag to finish off the outfit.

Over the weekend I bought my Spring lipstick - I always buy a new shade for Spring/Summer. I went with a coral-with-hints-of-pink cream lipstick by Lise Watier.

So…thoughts on this outfit ladies? Does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

You could possibly write my comment for me! LOVE IT. The combination of soft drape and flow with structure is divine:). I adore that blouse. It has a really timeless quality and I think you have a long and happy future together.

Great outfit Shannon and congratulations on the spring that finally sprung! I can see why you love that blouse.

Wow, you are really killing it lately! I adore this look - one of my faves ever! The blouse is divine, and looks super here with the pop of colour on bag and lips. Gorgeous all around!

Oh, wonderful!  What Deborah said, plus I love the pop of coral.

Sandals!!?  I can't believe Winterpeg is into sandals ahead of us...  the snow is trying hard to melt here, but we still have probably 2-3' in our yard, and there are still a lot of 4-5' snowbanks.  But we DID eat our lunch on the deck yesterday! And bbq'd supper, so we're getting closer.....

    Thanks ladies :)

Elizabeth - we actually hit +20 on Saturday and the forecast for this week is high teens/low 20's. Sorry to hear you still have snow :(

    Sandals???

    SHEESH!!

    Dying of envy here.

    Never mind. You look wonderful.

You look great!  I love the ombre blouse and sandals.  The cutouts on the side of the sandals make for a very interesting look.

I love this, Shannon, both the individual pieces and the outfit as a whole. And the new lipstick shade looks lovely.

I am wearing a skirt and sandals today with bare legs. Unfortunately the warm temps don't mean pretty weather; there is a chance of rain and/or thunderstorms all week.

You are a brave soul Shannon. It was -3C when I checked this morning.  I had planned to wear my Sperry Angelfish but wore oxfords with socks instead.

Your ensemble is lovely.  That is a great top on you and the stripe seems to give it a formality but the softness keeps it from being stuffy.  The shoes work perfectly with the whole outfit.  Very nice.  You are on a roll.

How is the eating plan coming?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

Suz - yeah, sorry about the sandals comment :)

Angie - oh my goodness...a K2K rating??? Thank you so much.

Cheryle - sure, it was -3 when I left this morning but I knew it was going to get plenty warm. And you know it's funny - my feet can take more cold than the rest of me. As for the eating plan, it's going incredibly well. I have a Week 2 update in Off Topics if you want to check it out.

Thank you all for your lovely words. I will admit, I'm feeling rather spiffy today :)

Love this look and I see why you are enamored of that blouse!  So awesome.  It's particularly great since it echoes the t-strap on the sandals.  I really love the coral with the neutrals as well.  Coral  is such a warm lovely color imo.
