WIW: Black & Blue & Floral

I'm so excited because a ton of snow has melted in the last 4-5 days and I'm actually venturing out today WITHOUT snow boots! Sure…I only have 10 steps from my house to my garage and back again but hey…it's still 10 dry steps!!!

So to go with my black pointy toe pumps, I went with nude hose for a hint of bare leg with my cobalt knit pencil skirt. I paired that with a simple black knit tank and topped it with this spring's first wearing of my CM floral moto. I am so glad I splurged on this jacket last year. I love floral patterns and like how this one is not your typical floral colours but rather shades of grey, cream, dark purple-blue and taupe.

Too lazy to change my handbag today so just went with my black leather one. At least it bookends the shoes….have I mentioned I'm wearing REAL shoes outside today???

I hope this works - I'm a little unsure of the blue skirt and black tank not being a column of colour. As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Moto: Club Monaco
Tank: Sears
Skirt: Cleo Petite
Shoes: Calvin Klein
Handbag: Danier Leather

I think it works great! The cobalt perks up the neutral colors in the rest of your outfit, and since it has a dark tonal value, like your top, the lack of column of color doesn't create a break at your waistline. The moto is to die for - I'm so glad you got it. Yay for real shoes again, Shannon!

This looks great, Shannon. The skirt is a pop of color and the jacket is lovely. I hear you on the shoes....I think I forgot how to walk in anything other than snow boots!

Ahh, goodbye snow and snowboots; hello florals and pumps! Isn't spring wonderful? You look beautifully ready to greet it. I agree with Ingunn that the cobalt skirt looks great with the black top and CM moto jacket. I like how the cobalt pulls that hint of pale blue from the jacket.

Yay! No snow boots! This outfit is a great way to celebrate. I love the tension of the bold skirt and soft print of the jacket. It works because the lines of the jacket are so clean. What a fun crisp and bold outfit.

Lovely! That moto is great. And how wonderful that you're able to forego the snow boots. I know you were desperately wishing for spring.

Congratulations on the new shoes! Love the moto with the blue skirt!

ETA I meant wearing the shoes outside but it came out of my fingers as new shoes - I stayed up too late last night!

This color combo is among my favorites so of course appealing to me.. I love the added interest of the floral topper and can so relate to just going with the purse instead of changing it out...

This is a great way to style... well... everything you're wearing!

Did you wear your shoes outside?  ;-)

Isn't it great to ditch the snowboots?! This is a very attractive outfit, Shannon, and you're wearing it with your usual panache. It definitely works. I love the moto!

Jacket is gorgeous, and it's in the only colorway I can imagine myself wearing that kind of floral for me, too! Just anotherfab outfit, yay, for the dry steps!

Thank you all for chiming in - glad that you think the black and cobalt doesn't cut me in half visually.

And I was so excited to wear shoes out of the house today and guess what it's doing as I write this???? Yep...snowing :(  Good thing I have an extra pair of winter boots in my office.

Real shoes? That's terrific. You Canadians must be thawing out up there :) Love the graphic print against the cobalt. You can't go wrong with that! YLF!

Yay proper shoes! YLF - glad you had boots at work :)

Hooray for no snow! You look fab. The blue and black look super together, no worries there. Though if you were more inclined to change your bag, I'd much prefer a lighter one here to go with the bare leg look :)
