WIW: Black Ankle Pants w/Black Booties (sort of)

I found myself quite smitten with the looks Angie showed us with black ankle pants with black booties. Now that I have my Chelsea boots, I wanted to try the look but alas, the only black ankle pants I have are summer weight. So I tried to mimic the look by rolling my black skinny jeans.

The outfit started with my black skinnies, cuffed twice. I then chose another Angie tip and paired a contrasting black tank with a white "hole-y" pullover (semi tucked). I then added a third Angie tip by pairing my black leather belt with my black booties…it's like an Angie Trifecta - three tips in one!

Popped on my black Chelsea boots (good grief, I love these!) and then decided at the last minute to add a dose of black and white pattern mixing (I kind of think of the black tank/white hole pullover as a polka dot pattern) by tossing on my black/white zebra pattern scarf. Black/white specs, big silver chrome watch and silver ring, and my black leather satchel finish off the outfit.

Happiness factor? Through the roof :)

Question for you lovely ladies: did I get the cuff right to expose the booties? I tried one more for some bare ankle showing but then the cuff seemed too bulky.

All comments/suggestions welcome. By the way Angie, the last shot is of the thin running socks I wear under my ankle boots.

Scarf and handbag: Danier Leather
Pullover: Nygard

Boots: Clarks

That is one of my favourite of Angie's blog posts! I think you have done this well. I like how the roll /cuff is kind of rate and rough, not too tidy and prim. The new boots look fab!

Love Angie's Trifecta here!:-) Great bl@w outfit and great new boots-but no ideea about the rolls, seems OK, but see what others will say further.

I don't know about the cuffs, but you look great!

Smashing once more Shannon! I am no roll expert but they look fine x

LOVE! I want to copy everything in this outfit.

I love it, too! The cuffs look great imho, and I think you are right that one more roll is too chunky. This is a super outfit, and you look amazing. So fresh!

It definitely works Shannon! The subtle pattern mixing from the spotty sweater holes and your scarf is great and the rolled jeans look good.

Really nice, Shannon ~ you look great!

Love your Shannon cum Angie look! The hole-y sweater effect is magnificent!

I love the open sweater with the scarf. Great look. I think showing some ankle would have looked interesting but agree the roll would have been too bulky.

Wowser! I absolutely love this outfit!

I love all of the elements of this outfit, Shannon! Angie is a genius, right?!

Ok, but call me a spanner but I'm not loving the rolls for some reason. Could be my monitor since I can't see the blacks too well but the cuffs are leaning a bit wide for me. I almost would prefer the full length black pant running right into the foot. But kudos to you for doing the roll. I'm guessing that IRL this looks fab and I'm just in devils' advocate roll...need more coffee ;) *ducking*

I think the look is perfection.  I especially like the black underneath the white sweater.

Marking this to copy - ylf!

Super cute and cuddly. Plus your hair is looking extra fab.

The cuff looks a little bulky. No bad though. Do you need to hem those jeans a little?

    Black and white heaven.

Love the textured sweater in a b/w combination.  I wouldn't roll more -- the booties come a bit higher on your petite leg, and the roll would be too bulky, I think.

    You have been consistently fab!

I especially like how the scarf ties the bottom half with the top half!

Looks really nice - love the black and white theme and how that sweater has the "holes" that let the black show through. It's interesting and striking in a great way.

Clever work with the black tank and scarf Shannon!
You are looking Fab- are you feeling a bit better?

Looking fab, as usual! I can't believe you're able to dress so well when you don't feel great. Hope you're doing better!
