WIW: BF and I and an interesting observation

It's a super casual day today around our household and I'm just running out to pick up a few things quickly. i was on my feet almost all day yesterday in heels so flats were absolutely essential for my pouting piggies today.

I paired my metallic flats with the smaller of my two BF jeans, snakeskin belt and a plain moss green v-neck tee. I popped on my favourite amber necklace and that's it. What I found interesting is that the BF jeans were the first ones I reached for. I'm starting to feel more comfortable in them even though I realize figure flattery is not the point of them. Maybe you CAN teach an old dog new tricks???

Anyway, what do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Tee: Danier Leather
Jeans: Gap Sexy Boyfriend
Belt: Olsen Europe (thrifted)
Shoes: Enzo Angiolini
Necklace: gift from hubby

I think you look great! I like the metallic flats echoing the color of the t-shirt. The other accessories (belt and necklace) are great, too. I have an issue with tucking into BF jeans (well, tucking in general, too) - only long silk shirts seem to work, everything else just creates the dreaded muffin top. I am amazed how good your outfit looks with the t-shirt tucked (not implying that I would expect you to look anything other than great, just sharing my own challenge in wearing this type of outfit).

I also seem to reach for the BF jeans all the time now - wore mine today and got a compliment/question (as in "You look nice! Are you going to work today? You seem to be dressed up!") So I guess BF jeans do not necessarily read as super-casual.

I think it looks terrific. The moss green (which almost reads as TAUPE to my obsessed brain) works brilliantly with the metallic shoes. The belt ties it all together. And the necklace is so pretty.

So interesting that you are starting to reach for the BF. Maybe he's not so bad after all?

Suz, I though it was taupe, too. I guess I am not the most attentive reader/viewer. :)

Whatever that color is, it looks fantastic.

Shannon, I always like looking at your WiWs (even if I don't always comment). You make even the simplest of outfits look polished and put together. Like you, I'm ambivalent about the BF, but I think you make him look good! Happy Saturday!

There's no doubt about it, BF's are a great weekend jean. I tend to be obsessive about things in my wardrobe, like if I think a certain style or silhouette is *best* on me, then I want *everything* to be in that style or silhouette. But then it becomes ho-hum because that's all I ever wear.

I like the idea of you having the BF's AND the Flattering Flares to change things up. These BF's look so slouchy cool on you, and then another day, or on date night you can reach for the other style if your mood changes. Okay, this is really off the wall, but it reminds me of the air fresheners that are advertised on TV that have two different fragrances so that when your nose gets used to one, it changes so you can smell it again, lol! My brain is very strange sometimes, clearly! Did I mention you look fab? That *was* the point of all this. Sorry! :/

You're only going to get more comfortable in them. Honestly, they are all I want to wear on the weekends. Or ever.

I think this look is about attitude and fun (maybe less about flattery), and you wear it well.

This is just ridiculously fab! The belt is fantastic and really elevates a super simple outfit!

Very cute -- I love that printed belt! And your kitties are always so pretty and fluffy!

What I like about the bf concept on you, Shannon, is that you look sweet and approachable in them. You look fashionable yet not like you take yourself too seriously. It's a fun look and I'm glad you are getting more comfortable with it.

First of all you look very good in your bf outfits, very good indeed.
Secondly I get what you are saying, bf jeans are so comfortable, you almost forget evrything else.

You, your outfit, and your musings are super cute! You make me want to hug you.

You look relaxed & put together which is all good in my book.

I love that belt!! I think you look very put together for a casual Saturday.

ETA: I meant that as a compliment, by the way :) it came across weird when I re-read it.

I really like the bfs with the ballet flats. I love that belt - all the snakeskin belts I find are too skinny. And I really like the necklace too. Still, the sum is greater than the parts and you look great.

Cute outfit, matched by the cute kitty at your feet!

Although I am a self-admitted tomboy, I tend to reach for "surrendering-style" BF clothes even more under certain circumstances. I'm much more likely to go for a baggy BF style after a long week at work in more structured clothing if I still have serious errands to run. In these circumstances I tend to keep the accessories and shoes nicer than say if I'd been off all week. It is probably a psychological thing, but for some reason I feel like a woman with a purpose that way, and less like a bum!

You have great belts and I love your BF jeans with the gold flats--- I think it is a great way to celebrate the last of our warm temps.
