WIW: Animal & White

It's a little cooler today so I felt I could wear my white jeans without melting in the heat. My goal the last few weeks is to dress as lightly as possible. I find that gets difficult after a while.

I started today with my white jeans and then topped them with this breezy blue/purple/white animal print flutter sleeved blouse. I'm wearing my neutral Boutique 9 peep toe booties so as not to chop up my leg line too much and my red quilted handbag for a pop of colour. I'm wearing my blue chunky bracelet for an accessory.

What do you think? Colours and proportions ok? Does this pairing work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blouse: Reitmans (thrifted)
Jeans: Jeanne Bekker
Shoes: Boutique 9
Handbag: Nine West (thrifted)
Bracelet: thrifted

You look very fresh Shannon. To my eye this all works beautifully. Adding the neutral bootie lengthens your leg line really well. I think you nailed it!

Shannon your white jeans look really good. Did you decide to hem them for a heel? The nude shoe is a great choice and the top looks really comfortable and breezy. Lovely pop of color with the red bag.

Perfectly summery, you look great in primary colours and white!

It is cooler here too, thank goodness. I like the white jeans! I think I want to get a pair after I am done SYC and hopefully the kids will be past wiping their hands on my jeans by then.

Jeans look perfect with the top. With all the shorter jeans I and everyone is wearing it is nice to be reminded how good PPL looks!

Definitely light and fresh. Love the handbag, too!

The boutique 9's look great with the white jeans and I really like that top! Such a pretty print! Now I need to try my boutique 9's with my white jeans!

Works well, Shannon and flatters you nicely. I can't see anything that demands tweaking. :o)

Hm, I think the quilting is throwing me off. I know a quilted bag is not going to keep you warm, but it feels very wintry to me. Just a personal quirk, I guess. I LOVE the top with the jeans and shoes!

    Thanks ladies!

Deborah - yes, I ended up hemming the jeans for heels and can get away with a few different shoes with them.

Rae - it's funny you mention the quilted handbag. I wondered about the texture also being too fall like. I think my orange handbag would have been better. Good eye!

Shannon: Love this look! I think a nude shoe is terrific with white trousers! I see what Rae is saying about the bag, although I wouldn't have thought of it myself. Your orange bag would be terrific, as well!

We're without A/C in the 98 degree heat. I feel you on dressing to stay cool!

Cute and fresh! I actually had the same thought as Rae, even though the quilting on the bag probably isn't a seasonal thing; that paired with the deeper red shade just makes me think of fall/winter (and I DO have season handbags, so take that for what it's worth).
