WIW: After a long haul

It has been weeks since I've been on YLF. We just finished a 5-week disaster event at the hospital and then went right into Accreditation. Anyone who has been through a hospital accreditation process knows how exhausting and stressful it can be. But all done as of yesterday so hopefully back to some normalcy now. I've missed you all and have so much to catch up on.

Today's outfit is my first WIW in 8 months - gotta refresh my camera and posing skills!

The outfit started with my dark wash slim jeans with a big cuff for ankle length. I then added my rust orange (color doesn't translate well here) drapey tank and topped that with my navy blue blazer. A pendant necklace and nude peep toe sandal booties finish off the outfit.

So what do you think? Would appreciate all comments and suggestions for improvement.

Bonus pic of my wavey version of my bob.

Tank and blazer: Reitmans Petite
Jeans: Wit & Wisdom
Shoes: Steve Madden

I like it! You look like you are fun and having fun.

Shannon it is so good to see you:). Love the outfit:). It's modern, simple and elegant. Your hair has grown into the bob beautifully. I wouldn't change a thing.

You look amazing! In spite of all your work stress, you've managed to stay on top of your game fashion-wise. Your new wavy bob is incredibly flattering. (I love the extra fun color streaks.) This is a fabulous outfit. I love the colors. Cute jeans -- they fit you well. The addition of the necklace is a perfect touch.

Wow you look fantastic, and I love the wavy bob and purple streaks in your hair. So fun! Lovely outfit too. Great to see you again, Shannon!

You've been missed, and look fab from head-to-toe! Love your hair, specs and the necklace is a great show piece!
(We have the same cabinets ;-)

WOW THE new HAIR! Welcomne back Shannon and YLF of course! Love it head to toe, beautifully done!:-)

Ahhhh ladies - you're like a virtual hug! Thank you for the warm welcome back and kind words. It's funny how awkward I felt this morning taking my picture...just out of practice I guess.

The bob hairstyle is growing in nicely. I am liking the versatility of it - I can straighten it to be quite sleek or I can scrunch it while drying and make it wavy. I still have about 4 months to go to get the shortest hairs on top to my chin but the overall length won't be much longer than it is now.

It's good to see your wonderful smile this morning. You look beautiful.

  • Helen11 replied 7 years ago

Nice to see you, and you're looking great! Love the wavy hair. I think I need some peep toe shoes like yours : )

  • Elizabeth P replied 7 years ago

So good to see you again Shannon!
I like what you've done here... the cuff and shoes really modernize what could be a fairly "classic" outfit.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 7 years ago

Joy - you're so sweet. Thank you.

Helen - I bought these peep toes last spring and they have been total workhorses for me. Really added something to my style. In fact, I just ordered the same pair in black.

Elizabeth - that's it exactly. I want to be able to modernize a look without having to buy something trendy. A few tweaks here and there I think can help achieve that.

  • Roxanna replied 7 years ago

I really love this on you. The cut! The colours! Exactly fit your body type and your spunky personality. And I love the nude heels to finish it off.

Looks like Reitmans petite was made for you...I may have to give it a look!

  • Joyce B replied 7 years ago

    Looking fab, Shannon! Welcome back.

  • Maneera replied 7 years ago

Oh you look so FAB! I can't get over how gorgeous that hairstyle is on you. You look brighter and prettier than ever, Shannon! Love you in these colors

  • Sara L. replied 7 years ago

I love your hair!  Great outfit and the peeptoe booties look perfect.

  • citygirldc replied 7 years ago

Shannon, you look great and welcome back. Loving the red top and skinnies.

My...how your hair has grown and so has mine. Let's see how long we can keep up the growing period.

  • Tanya replied 7 years ago

So great to see you here, Shannon, you have been missed!  And I absolutely love your hair, it is super cool!  The outfit is great, I love the booties with the jeans.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 7 years ago

Roxanna - Reitmans is one of the few local stores that carries Petites and after a time away from them, I've returned. It's so nice to find clothes that fit off the rack.

Citygirldc - yay for us both growing our hair! Isn't it the most frustrating experience? Mine is finally getting past the point of where I just want to hack it all off.

Thank you Joyce, Maneera, Sara, and Tanya. It's nice to be back :)

  • kkards replied 7 years ago

Do I see some red peaking thru your hair?
Love the prefect proportions of this outfit. Well done

Hi Shannon!  Nice to see you this morning :)  I cannot get over your hair - how nicely it grew in , and how cute it is in its wavy state !   Reitman's' has some cute things, don't they?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 7 years ago

Kkards - yep, I have a cranberry streak in one spot that peaks out here and there depending on how I've styled my hair.

Lisa - can you believe this mop of hair??? There are days I feel like I have a poodle on my head but I'm getting used to it. Reitman's is an interesting store - there are some cute things and then there are some hideous things. But their petite line fits my body very well so as long as I can distinguish the good from the bad, it's a retailer I'll continue to frequent. Our city is a wasteland for petite fashion sadly.

Shannon- you are looking good despite the stress. (I have been through several hospital accreditations and though one's regular workload stays, there is a lot piled on top of it. Glad it is behind you.

Love the hair, especially the stripe. Fun top and topper color combo. Happy weekend to you.

  • Diana replied 7 years ago

Hi Shannon!  You look great!  I LOVE the hair!  The outfit is fab too - great colors (they go so well with the plummy streak in your hair) and proportions.

  • Laurie replied 7 years ago

Shannon, nice to see you!  Love the hair!

And now I need go pull out my 3 pairs of Steve Madden sandals which you inspired me to buy last year.  Amazing when you like something how your eye goes straight to that item?

  • rachylou replied 7 years ago

Fresh and modern. Quite sleek, really. Great hair :D

  • replied 7 years ago

So good to see you Shannon! And looking awesome too. Fab outfit and great looking hair.

  • Helena replied 7 years ago

Fab!! I am finding reitmans interesting lately too ... They seem to be putting a real effort into modernizing their style. Your finds are fab!

  • Beth Ann replied 7 years ago

    Yay!  Shannon!

You look terrific.  Love the combo of drapey woven with soft, but tailored jacket on you -- the necklace is a perfect detail.

I see your signatures here too -- the nice balance of drape and structure, the terrific hair (love it), the updated shoes (in spite of foot challenges), and ----the smile!

I'm enjoying a wide cuff with my full length dark denim this Spring, too!

  • Aida replied 7 years ago

Hello lovely lady! You look super. Loving the longer 'do. Also the brown shoes for a softer touch than something darker and more subtle than something brighter.

  • replied 7 years ago

There must be an invigorating element to your schedule because you look really refreshed and current. Your outfit is excellent, your hair is amazing, and these colors are great on you.

  • Karin L H replied 7 years ago

Very nice! Love the colour combination, and the top looks great on you, both colour and style.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

Great to see you post again, Shannon. Glad the accreditation is behind you.

Killer look. You match the tulips on your calendar. Loving the longer 'do too. Softens your look, and is a nice way to change things up. Just for fun.

As far as what you've missed - I'd say Mary getting engaged is a biggie. Our 10 year YLF anniversary was glorious, and Batsam is sublime:

Oh wow - what a lovely bunch of comments. Thank you all so much.

Angie - happy belated 10th anniversary! What a milestone for YLF. And although you look positively stunning in your tweed dress-jacket combo, I'm afraid I can't stop looking at Batsam - talk about a little cutie! And congratulations Mary - sooooo happy for you :)

  • Nebraskim replied 7 years ago

You are still bringing it. I always do a little squeal of joy when I notice your posts. I love the cranberry streak. I'm thinking of adding a color like that back into my life. I stopped coloring my hair about 18 months ago, but am thinking that adding just a little pop might be fun again.

  • catgirl replied 7 years ago

Shannon!  You look wonderful and I LOVE the hair with the streak!  Glad to see you post.  I'm dying my ends emerald and dark blue just for fun. :)

  • Thirkellgirl replied 7 years ago

I have always liked your outfits, that's why I follow you. You look great. Your hair is wonderful. If you could ever figure out how to photograph the back... I'd love to see that, too.

  • Jjsloane replied 7 years ago
