WIW: A Sort of White Summer Suit

Continuing in my personal challenge to wear older items in newer ways - today's older item is my white blazer.

I wore this blazer a ton last summer and the summer before but have only worn it once this year. Today I decided to try it with white capris to make a white summer suit.

I wanted a high contrast blouse and chose my sleeveless EF charcoal silk tunic top.

I've added my bone sandal shoes and citron handbag, as well as my taupe/silver wrap watch and silver pendant to round out the outfit.

Would love your thoughts on this combo as I'm not sure it works. All comments/suggestion welcome.

It works fabulously! White and black always looks amazing together....and this 'sort of suit' is actually pretty neat. I love the addition of citron bag - pop of fresh, summery colour that keeps the outfit looking very fun!

It works beautifully. The high contrast top makes it IMHO:). Love your new photo spot too, great lighting...and you have a BLACK fridge... Cool...in more ways than one lol

I like the high contrast. I esp cheer the citron bag for your color splash. Very nice. And I, too, like your new photo location. Have a great day.

I think it works, too! I love the button details on the capris, to me they tie in and finish the look with the blazer. The black/white contrast is great for this time of year. And your citron bag shines in so many outfits.

Glad to see this fab jacket back in action!  I love the white suit look on you, and find it fresh and professional for summer.  What about it makes you unsure?  This look would also work with your fabulous bone oxfords.

It totally works - formal jacket with more casual pants, and these shoes are really lovely.

Maneera - one of my favorite things in an outfit is "a pop of color" with my handbag. Thanks for noticing :)

Deborah - you and I love our high contrast black and white don't we? :) And I decided my previous photo spot just didn't have good lighting at all and since I'm using my phone now for my pics instead of an actual camera, I needed a better lit location. Glad it's working out.

Nebraskim - another high contrast lover - welcome to the party!

Aliona - you have a keen eye noticing the buttons on the capri pants. I was hoping the silver buttons would also tie in with the silver straps on the shoes.

Beth Ann - I think that makes me pause is the capri pants are clearly more casual than the blazer and I'm wondering if the juxtaposition between the two doesn't work.

Daria - ha! See my comment above - I was worried about the formal jacket paired with the casual pants.

It definitely works - the pants are structured enough to blend in with the look.

When I saw the photos my first impression was that everything looks great in this outfit.
Since you asked about the difference in formality between pants and jacket I took a second look.
It still seems like a fab outfit to me. Although you did kind of a suit the jacket still works to my eye as a finishing piece.

I didn't notice any difference between pant and jacket in terms of formality , but that's the photo , I realize. I think it looks fresh, cool and polished, and just what you want for today's heat.

I think it works too. It's a fabulous 'suit' and I'm loving the dark top under it and bold bag. Gorgeous!
