WIW: A little winter white

I'd like to call it "spring white" but we still have 6 feet of snow and won't see grass for at least a month…

I normally wait until the snow is pretty much gone to pull out my white jeans (because of the slush and mess) but I decided this morning to heck with it and popped them on anyway.

I've paired my white jeans (sized up skinnies) with my voluminous drapey knit pullover in grey with green, cobalt and white stripes. At one point I thought of purging this pullover because it is not traditionally flattering, but I adore the drape of it and the colours and I think it works well with the structured jeans - this gives me my current favourite formula: structure paired with fluidity.

I added my bone heeled boots to keep the leg line a column of colour and chose my large cream handbag. Silver wedding band and black/white specs finish it off.

So…what do you think? Does it work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Pullover: Lord & Taylor
Jeans: Jessica Simpson
Boots: Heavenly Feet (thrifted)
Handbag: Danier Leather

Well at least the white jeans will help make you 'feel' springy:) Lovely fresh look. I like the proportions and I LOVE those booties.

I adore that slouchy sweater on you. It looks great paired with your white jeans and accessories. Fabulous!!!

Very refreshing, spring shall come soon.

I think this is a perfect early spring outfit. Comfortable, quite practical, and lightened up for lighter days. Your boots and handbag are so stylish with the jeans and slouchy sweater.

It's so interresting, for me spring comes via the sweater to my eyes-in this special case, and not like expected via the white denim and booties. Regardless, YLF Shannon!

You rock this sweater, and your white jeans and accessories set it off beautifully. SIX feet of snow still on the ground? I'll stop complaining about one foot here!

Six feet of snow? 6? Ok then. Well you look fabulous anyway. I love the booties with the white jeans.

Shannon, I've been veteran status for a few months now but feel 'official' because I knew exactly what sweater you were talking about before seeing the photos! :) Love the drape, pattern and color of the sweater, I think the white stripe really makes the outfit withyour white pants. Really nice!
If your snow is anything like oursit is now an unappealing gray.

Looks great - I love the sweater colors with the white jeans, it's a really nice mix!

Triple yes to this outfit!  There are so many places that this would be perfect --- This is a great shopping outfit, for example, or meeting a friend for coffee, or cozying up with a book or...........working.  Working is good, too!

P.S.  I'm wearing a Shannon formula today --- booties, pencil and fluid top.

Shannon, you look marvelous, and this look will transition into spring so nicely!

I'm wondering if I can't do white because I see SO MUCH of it all winter... I am definitely over the snow, even if spring skiing is nice.

Yay to busting out white jeans early.  I'm still holding on wearing my white bootcuts until the weather cooperates, but have been sporting my white skinnies often.

  • adorkable replied 10 years ago

Yes and yes and yes. Looks cozy and comfortable and soft and lovely.

Love that sweater! Looks so cozy and spring-y! And with white ... Pure sophistication :)

So much love for that sweater, I think the moss/granite/deep ocean natural colors make it evoke spring for me.   The whites are looking stunning on you too.

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

this is great! it says spring! now, is mother nature listening?

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Well, you know what I think! I'm the reason you rescued that gorgeous sweater from the donate pile, right? :) LOVE this.

As for the weather, the less said the better. It's bitter cold here. ARGH!!!

Those boots are a great thrift find!  You get the bravery award for light boots and white pants in the muck season!

Windchime and Shevia - yep, 6 feet :(

Angie - thank you for your kind words.

Beth Ann - you're so cute! It would be a good outfit for many occasions, wouldn't it?

Kkards - I'm afraid Mother Nature isn't listening. She's frozen under the snow somewhere - lol!

Suz - yep, you're the reason the sweater is back and I'm sooooo glad!

I felt good in this today and actually got white a few compliments. Thank you all so much for your kindness :)
