WIW: A day of dots

Good morning my lovely YLFers! Looks like another warm day here - so glad our summer has finally arrived.

Today I'm pairing my black clams (a wardrobe staple for me in summer) with my cream and navy polka dot Mother's Day blouse. I was originally going to wear nude footwear but decided in the end to wear my Fly London sandals to carry on with dots (I kind of think of the cut outs in the front of the sandal as "skin polka dots"). I've added my green handbag for a pop of colour and a navy blue bracelet for jewelry.

What do you think? Proportions and colours ok? Would I have been better to go with nude footwear? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blouse: Winner's
Clams: Reitman's
Sandals: Fly London
Handbag: Cleo (thrifted)
Bracelet: thrifted

Shannon this is one of my favorite tops! I think this looks great. The black sandals work really well, however I think your Boutique 9's would look great too.

I really like the dots and the black with green. Great statement bracelet!

Shannon, that top is so pretty on you. I really like the outfit, and with your dark hair, you can make black or nude sandals work with it equally well.

Clever with the "skin dots":-) but nude will also work when want to elongate your leg, perhaps in a pencil and, as said before, THIS IS ONE GORGEOUS dotted blouse. Perfect!

    LOVE! this whole look =)

This blouse looks sooo gorgeous on you! The clams look great, which reminds me my favorite basic pants ever are from Reitmans and I need to check them out again. I like the edge and semi-chunkyness of the sandals in contrast to the floaty top.

I also really love the green bag with this which is strange because I think I have a poison eye for the single pop of color look. I think because your bag is large it becomes a more dominant color instead of just a pop.

    KILLER

Your style is simplifying. Have you noticed, Shannon?

I have noticed that I'm enjoying wearing less accessories, less layering and wanting to wear single pieces that have some visual interest. Do you think this is a style shift or maybe just a seasonal response in dressing for the heat?

  • replied 11 years ago

Well whatever it is Shannon, you continue to keep "hitting them out of the park" with each new outfit. I love this! How brilliant to add the green bag and cool bracelet!

I agree with Angie! Your style has totally simplified! I love it! :)

I love this top on you! And your green bag is amazing!

Another beautiful outfit Shannon! Love that blouse on you, and the addition of the green bag.

Love it! Besides being dotty, I like how the black shoes continue the color of the clams. Maybe your simplification is a little bit of both? Style shift as well as the heat?

Fab, and I think the black sandals work really well.

Love this! That is a fabulous top and I love the simplicity of pattern, solid, and color pop. Great shoes!

That top is so lovely. Whole outfit and all the details look perfect to me.

Totally fab - the green bag really elevates it for me.

Skin polka dots :-D these sandals go so well with the clams and blouse :-)

A wonderful outfit Shannon! Your sandals do indeed make "skin polka dots". I also love that color of navy in the bracelet!

  • Kate replied 11 years ago

Very fab; you look great. I also really love your hair, Shannon. Did you have it trimmed?

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Super-fab! I remain in love with your green bag.

  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago

Absolutely love this look. And what a pretty bracelet!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Kate - yes, I get my hair trimmed every 4-5 weeks. Because it's so short and grows so fast, any longer than that between trims and it starts to lose its shape. Thanks for the compliment!

Thank you for your lovely comments everyone!
